Depends on the the age, specs, & how much you want to spend on an old puter. You can pick up a lesser than new card. Their latest releases are pricey & high end, but to drop down a couple models can save ya serious cash and still give you good performance. ATI or NVIDIA both have great product lines. You can shop at Staples.com or best buy, or what ever is local to you. Shop online & have it at your door in 1-2 days if ya want to pay shipping. Ockham's razor- It's that simple
If you don't play games pretty much any nvidia or ATI card will do. With amount of vid ram, most cards are starting at 64M minimum and unless you use applications such as games or professional packages that use openGL it'll be more then enough. Personally I prefer the image quality of ATI but it's so close you can't go far wrong.

We're back in FL for a short while from the mountains, and I had brought my challenge file, then my ole 'puter here collapsed.. It seems to be the video card that will need to be replaced. Is there anything I need to know before buying a new card. What would you reccommend? How much memory should be on the vido card? Any brand recommendation. Thanks a lot, guys!
