THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: OT: And just when you think reality couldn't have any more surprises...

draculaz ( ) posted Thu, 04 November 2004 at 10:53 AM · edited Wed, 06 November 2024 at 8:52 AM

Well, Bush won, against my original guess, myself having ridden the democratic sing-along for a while now. Arafat died about three minutes ago, marking a huge shift in power in the Middle East (and consequently reminding Dubya where he needs to concentrate his passions after a rightly-won election). The dogs are barking in Romania, and I'm here, sitting on a nice 56k connection for the past two days and no time to use it. News from the front (for those keeping up with whatever I've posted lately): I've gotten into a temporary slump due to the fact that the Romanian government will not accept my high school graduation. Apparently having one of the top 10 Canadian Universities accepting it is aside the point; neither are the Educational Excellence Award signed by Clinton, being Valedictorian, and the slew of other prizes I've won during my time in high school. Apparently unless you've done 12 years of primary+secondary school+highschool, you're just not Romanian material. I've done 10, having fast-tracked through 2 years of boredom. But yeah... yay for misthought democracies. It's going to be fixed by next week, it's just really pissed me off. Half of my generation has gotten out of the country and the other half wish they could. I'm the only idiot coming back to a crappy salary and corrupt-think and something must be wrong. I tend to agree. Gonna have little bits of time in which I'll be working on some new models and renders. I really really want to finish the CGTalk thing, but I need the juices flowing again and the Carlsberg I'm drinking atm isn't helping. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know the plane didn't crash and you're not rid of me. I've missed this place and I love some of you long time. The rest of you can do the mature thing and eat my shorts :) Drac (prettiest digital sight since pam and tommy's video)

Ang25 ( ) posted Thu, 04 November 2004 at 11:08 AM

Ooh so you have those flavored undies? yum. Think I'll pass on eating your shorts. Glad that things aren't totally backwards where you are, 56k I mean. I'm allowed to make fun of that since thats what I'm on too. Glad to see you back in here.

danamo ( ) posted Thu, 04 November 2004 at 11:09 AM

Hey Drac, nice to hear from ya! Hope all the red-tape nonsense clears out of your way soon. I got my fingers crossed for you in the CGTalk contest.

blaufeld ( ) posted Thu, 04 November 2004 at 11:14 AM

"But yeah... yay for misthought democracies. It's going to be fixed by next week" Yeah, as soon as Dubya will realize that he needs something from Romania, put it on the "Felon Countries" list and carpet-bomb your Country until you all surrender to the Joy of a True Democracy(TM). Then, your school assets will be held in high regards! :P

sackrat ( ) posted Thu, 04 November 2004 at 11:31 AM

OK,..........number 1. try an Orangeboom pilsner,........2. my cat Rusty can begin eating again now that your back, he's been lying at the base of your shrine, inconsolable, since I told him you left. As far as democracy,....as far as ours is concerned, there's no accounting for taste,.....I always liked the Churchill quote "Democracy is the worst form of government,....except for all the rest". I do believe Iran is next on the carpet-bombing agenda. You do know that you can get a HS diploma online, don't you,....cost you about $40.00 US. Good to hear from you. 56K,....that's positivley neolithic.

Hey Drac, that is why I never went back, and I never will to ex-Yugoslavia, there is no future overthere, at least in my lifetime, and to be honest I DO NOT feel that I should be a part of fixing something I never suported and got unfixed at the first place, I still feel for them, I'm not a stone, but, they ALL(almost all) wanted MF war, so they got it !!! Leave me out of it, that's what I say :) That's why I came in US, country far from perfect, but, at least you can get fearly decent job, and be on your own...Never looked back ! :) Bush, on the other hand, really did prove how American ppl are conservative, indeed and, now, there they have it, and, honestly, I cannot believe that he was actually chosen becouse the way he reacted on the most tragic event of 9/11 ! :) ANY president in the entire world would react in similar fashion IMHO... Middle east problem is, and is going to be FOREVER, that corner of the planet is DOOMED with or without Arafat... And, last, if you have something like, 30 day money back, guaranteed, pack your stuff back, lol. Good luck to you If you decide to stay, or is it to late for that now ? :)

I'm sorry to hear about them not accepting your HS Diploma etc...sorry state of affairs there I'm sure. :( Anyways, I'm tremendously happy to see you again and a 56k modem connection is better than a sharp stick up the arse, know what I mean Vern? grin

Ardiva: Because they all left for India and China. Duh. :p There needs to be incentives for companies to do buisness in the U.S. rather than just sell stuff made cheaply elsewhere. It's not likely to happen with this administration. In general: Anyhow does anybody have the feeling that Mr. Hanky would have been reelected if he was president during the 9/11 attack? Frankly I disappointed that people here don't care about shady buisness dealings (Haliburton, Enron, S&L, etc. Anyone paying attention?) and the dismantling of social security just because they think one person in office can protect them from terrorists. If the terrorists decide to attack, they will attack. Besides there already were security guards, etc. in place at the airports from which the 9/11 flights left from. So implementing security isn't going to do it. Awareness by citizens of possible terrorist actions is what will stop those bastards. It's not some mopey half asleep guy with a magnetic wand that prevents the next use of an airplane in that manner, it's the fact that there would be a severe lynching by other passengers... So far the main action in the U.S. has been to take our freedom away with the Patriot Act. Kinda what the enemy wanted anyhow. Brilliant logic there...

Paul: Even "mr haliburton" said there will most likely be more here. I tend to not talk politics though, I get too emotional.#^%@*& bunch of yahoos. LOL. DRAC!!! Yu Numba Wun Dracky, ruv Yu rong time. Sorry to hear about the delay. They're just prolonging the inevitable..."When you get under their skin", muhaha. You can come work for me...I'll give you your present months salary in a week, but I'm sorry that by the time you'd get here it will only be worth 40% face value. Well as long as you don't have to eat, drink, drive, smoke, heat your home, or get medical attention...You'll be OK!! All kidding aside, good to hear from you. Miss your brilliant ranting. ICM Rod

Sackrat: Orangeboom ??? I used to drink that in the navy. Jeez it was awful stuff. You had to sink 2 cans before you forgot about the taste. Drac: I know how you can secure your job. Tell your prospective boss that if you don't get the job you'll spread it about that he's having an affair with his secretary. When you get the job, spread it about anyway. Nobody will sack you because they'll all know you'll do the same to them. Arafat lives - for now! And I've no idea why it posted twice. Even GWBush was caught out by that one.

Hey I was doing spin and mass balance on a 20mm grenade and they put an Iranian national in the desk behind mine. Half our lab work is being done by forign nationals who will go back to their own countries in four years with our latest technology. Why not Drac? You speak English and Romanian, how about Korean? Diplomatic training, an understanding of computer technologies and the ability to make completely realistic computer generated images. W wants you my boy, for the CIA!

With your artistic abilities and college degree, I'm sure you will find something in the USofA, Drac. Maybe consult with AS on this as he lives in a state where alot of the action is.
