Subject: Mt5 to multiple areas?

Tyger_purr ( ) posted Thu, 04 November 2004 at 12:57 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 2:23 PM

Is there a python or program or a way to apply material nodes to multiple areas as the same time. I know about apply to all but I dont want all of them to change, just some.

As far as I know, Python cannot access the material room or parts of it. If you do need to change the materials on the same item often, you can use the group editor to combine all the materials to one. Like combining all V3's different body materials to one material.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

At present, there is no way to do so. mt5's must be applied singly. Which isn't quite as easy on us as MAT files, but then, MAT files are a hack ;)

bummer. i have found setting which make skin look awesome (at least in my opinion) but applying it is combersome (even with copy/paste or mt5 files) especialy with multiple characters.

If you want to retain the same settings for multiple use, you could get it set up for all the materials and then save it as a P5 MAT file with Netherworks python script (look under Scripts/Utilities section.) I find I have probably only around 10 textures that I use the most, so I set up a P5 MAT pose for each one. It is also possible to make partial P5 MAT poses (eg add an anisotropic shader to the corneas only) but it involves hand-editing the script-created MAT file.
