Well, he answered - but he didn't address it with the knowledge of what about the situation so upset people when it happened.
For the record, he makes it sound as if I were campaigning to allow MP promos in the general galleries - I am not.
I am refering to merchants being told to "be modest in self crediting and don't link back to your own product", which is unfair when a merchant simply uses their own work in their renders. -one of the issues this year that I felt wasn't handled properly.

I would be interested to know the answer to that one as well Kendra..I dont think its very fair for merchants to not be allowed to promote their own work {link back or otherwise} unless 'Rosity is in on it..{which is what I gathered from Tim's response to your question...} Edited for blasted typo gremlins {either that or I cant spell 'the' correctly half the time ~lol~}

nemirc, have you read about the problem I was refering to? Or even what I wrote? If you had, you wouldn't be confused about the situation. Merchants, who simply posted renders using their own marketplace items were caught up in a mass move of images to the PS gallery. They were moved back only after raising hell about it. Merchants were told to "down play" their own work in the links section.
Not acceptable. Just because a merchant posts a render doesn't not mean it automatically should go in the PS gallery. People stated they would no longer credit anything. This hurts all merchants and it was not handled correctly. Look up the thread in both the PS forum and Merchant forum.
Only reason I mentioned it here was to clarify my question based on the way Tim answered it.

A "State of the Site Address"?!? (00) ROFLMAO! Ok... Tim, you're taking yourself waaayyyy too seriously. ;) Put down that spotlight and step away slowly, and no one has to get hurt... ;] What do you have planned for your second term agenda? And do you consider that this election has given you a Mandate? Or merely a Plebescite?

actually Nemirc that is what happened. some merchants who had used their own products in a render had there renders moved to the PS when all they were doing was making a picture. they were not ad's at all. no coming soon, etc just plain artwork. because of this, I don't post pictures here anymore. because I'm a merchant, it can be classed as a ad :(
Hi everybody, Just wanted to help with a couple of questions in here. For SeanE, I see a reply to your question. Maybe a refresh on that page will get it to show up for you. For Kendra, our sincere apologies for the situation where merchants were being told to "be modest in self crediting and don't link back to your own product". That indeed was not handled as well as it could have been. In reviewing the situation, we have made sure that all of our team members, as well as merchants, are now operating with the same understanding. Merchants may post gallery images with credit links to their products. However, they may not contain any ad copy or promotional text. Thank you for your question, and for bringing this to our attention. Going forward, you should find a consistent and fair approach to this issue. Best regards, Lillian

Add that to those that don't post links anymore, myself included until something official was said, and that was pretty big issue. Everyone is affected. I don't recall you being involved, nemirc, so don't take my irritation at the whole thing personal. Like I said, the response made my question sound like something it wasn't and I simply wanted to clarify.

Thank you Lillian, I'm glad to hear that. That type of wording was a suggestion I voiced, along with others, as a very fair solution.
Considering that was the only serious issue I could come up with, that says to me that things were actually pretty good in general this year.

Lol,well be glad I had too much going on and missed the extension notice over the weekend or I'd be raising some cane rofl.All of the problems expressed such as the promo pictures being removed and so on derive from the lack of communication you guys have with one another...the right hand doesn't even know the left hand exists or in fact that its connected to a body in most cases. In truth,I really didn't feel too impressed by the accomplishments mentioned over the past year as there is so much more that could have been accomplished.Adding a new server may have sped things up a bit and the marketplace overhaul created havok largely because rosity didn't connect with its members...nothing to brag about there and most of us still hate the marketplace facelift.As you know,if you have your page colors set to a non white color,when you leave the mainsite to visit the marketplace you can almost be blinded lol. I'm not too sure that this conversation with Tim was really very effective as it doesn't seem to have addressed many issues affecting the site...or its potential growth.Shame too,I had a lot of ideas I was going to propose and was willing to chat in order to learn the inner workings of rosity to see how such ideas could be more tailored for the site.Thats not to say I'm some kind of genius with all the answers,its simply to say that it looks like almost no one even noticed this was going on...I did but only remembered at the last minute and missed this extension thread lol. In any case...I see many more possibilities that Mr Choate should pursue so that next year there will be a solid list of changes that he can address that don't include changes which most members actually think were negative changes.The marketplace change may have been necessary,but most members don't like it which reflects not a good change but a bad one.
If the end goal of learning is genius...why are most geniuses failures at learning?
But aren't you glad I didn't get my two cents in...come on...just a little roflimao;P I think rositys doing fine just not that the accomplishments addressed were really that much of an accomplishment...its like my #1 question was would rosity be willing to create its own downloadable Instant Messenger service now that it looks like MSN will probably ending support for the one it puts out?Unlike MSN which relied on advertising,you actually sell product and this could be a great promotional tool as if its good I would promote it throughout the art community...other sites like RDNA could even pay to have quicklinks to their sites on the IM. I have good ideas...it's just timing them lol.I know Tim's not looking for something like this,but this past week was a good time to mention it;P

We wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to post any questions they would like to ask Tim Choate, President of Bondware.So, we extended the Spotlight through the weekend. If you have any questions you would like to ask, please go ahead and do so this weekend.
We would like to thank everyone that has participated and asked such great questions.
