Just swung by the e-on website and wow, they have got one heck of a special offer going. Vue 4 for only $69!!! That's good, if i didnt have vue 4 i would be seriously tempted.

Just thought i'd let you all know, it dosent seem to have been mentioned in this forum yet. :)

wow yeah that is a real pricedrop. but whats the 70 vue scenes e.on mentions as a download, never hard of that before and i cant find it anywhere either. its mentioned if you click the vue4 ad.

iaingblack ( ) posted Tue, 09 November 2004 at 5:57 PM

hmmm, yeah, 75 scenes it says.

"You can also download a complete collection of over 250 high quality, fully textured 3D models as well as over 75 magnificient scenes created by some of the best Vue artists around to learn from (sold separately). "

This is the content of the second CD that shipped with Vue 4. A follow of the 'buy now' link gives the following;

"Extra Content For Vue 4 Download Version (Windows & Macintosh)
This file includes all the basic Vue object collections, and all sample scenes from the original Extra CDs "

That sells for $30, the manual sells for $30 too (20 for britain).

I decided to take the plunge and grab myself a copy of Vue 4 since this was too good an offer to pass. Anyone know how long you normally have to wait for them to come back with serial numbers? Very frustrating finally having Vue and not being able to use it. :(

It is a complete product without render resolution limits and it is possible to upgrade to version 5 with it.

Hi All I too just took advantage of this offer. WoW! what a get price,I also purchased mover 5 as well. I haven't had the chance to install it as of yet because I'm at the office. I should have read the question from quarie before I made my purchase. You mean to tell me that I will have to wait on a serial number? Thanks

guarie ( ) posted Tue, 09 November 2004 at 11:24 PM

Yup mcturbo - almost 9 hours and I'm still waiting. Grrrr. I understand about time differences but still, it was an automatic paypal payment which should be automatic from their end as well. I hate waiting to play with a new toy. :(

I hear ya, I used a credit card myself. I was hoping to start enjoying some rendering but I guess it will have to wait. :( Thanks

Hey, nobody has mentioned so far that the price for the download version ($69) plus the regular update to Vue 5 ($149 or even $129 if you are a late V4 buyer - and you should if you buy it now) is cheaper than the regular price of Vue 5. BTW, they use my "run mummy, run" to advertise that "steal". I am VERY honored!

One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.

i did notice that but i think its a great way to promote vue, and the downloadable vue4 version doesnt come with all the content of the boxed version us old timers are using so i think its a good deal for everybody. anyway, its a great deal to get new users into the realm of vue and congrats on the run mummy run advert :)
