Subject: victoria 3 is evil!

friscolives ( ) posted Wed, 10 November 2004 at 11:08 AM · edited Sat, 20 July 2024 at 5:46 AM

This is driving me nuts! I got victoria 3, then I bought the face morph pack, but still I can't apply anything to victoria 3. I know its all loaded in the libraries and I open victoria 3 and get her figure, then I go to the poses folder and find "all expressions inj" and double click that to load it, then I try to do an expression and double click it and ---nothing. I've tried it with teeth, eyes, etc and nothing. I go back and use the default Judy and it works fine but Victoria 3 is a much better looking figure so I'd love to be able to use it. I'm sure i'm just missing something somewhere but i've read over the manual several times and for the life of me I can't find anything. For some reason theres a little + on the pictures in the libraries, and there is no double check at the bottom of the library palette. I don't know if thats important or not.

...out of curiosity, are you trying to apply Judy's expressions to V3?

...also out of curiosity, you do something with the dials that appear for the appropriate body part (e.g. head) after you have INJ the expressions...?

I'm using the victoria 3 figure and using victoria 3 morphs from the face pack morph set. I read something about a dial that is suppossed to come up that I can adjust for the morphs but no dial comes up. There is one set of dials but thats for poser inself and doesn't really pertain to the morphs i'm selecting.

If you have the Head dials open when you load the morphs, try switching to another body part or to figure and then back to head again, the new dials should show up. Michelle

k, try this. Select Vicki's head. Go up to Windows on your menu bar, and select Parameter Dials you should get the parameter dials for Vicki. But, make sure it's Vicki's head you've got selected when you do this...lol, I make this mistake almost daily, so I like to highlight it.

I load the morphs but for example if I'm loading the expressions morphs then I go to the head dials they don't do anything for the exopressions, they just do various things for the head. I want to add vampire like fangs and I can't even get her to open her mouth.

"I read something about a dial that is suppossed to come up that I can adjust for the morphs but no dial comes up. All the the Inj stuff for V3 does is to "INJect" the morph dial into the basic figure. Once a morph is injected, you will find the dial has been added in V3's parameter dials (in the case you specified, for the head part). Because of the way that Poser works, in order for the new parameter dial to show up you may have to select a different body part then re-select the part (eg the head) that the morph applied to. The morphs aren't automatic. You have to tweak the parameter dial in order to make the morph work. The idea behind it is to keep the size of the figure in memory low. The dials are all there in the figure, but hidden until you inject the morph. Once the morph is injected, it becomes available, and can be used like any other morph dial. Hope this makes sense (and more importantly, helps), Cheers, Diolma

That's another thing I like about thr RR versions of M3 and V3: pre-loaded morphs.

I think I stumbled apon the problem. I just bought poser 5 about 2 weeks ago and just got the facial morph set yesterday, and all was installed but nothing that was advised was working. So I went to Daz web site to check for any updates and there were updates for both victoria 3 and the facial morph set. I downloaded them and now those dials are actually appearing. I'll play with it later tonight but I think I got the problem solved.

Glad you sorted the problem, friscolives:-) V3 NOT evil:-)) (kinda cute, actually...) Cheers, Diolma

you see see her in the fangs and vampire outfit I have planned. She sure LOOKS evil lol

Out of curiousity, what was the name of the .cr2 file you originally used that didn't work? V3 Blank will not accept morph injections. It was created so people could makee their own morphs and redistribute them in the .cr2 file. I've seen a number of people load that one up by mistake, thinking Blank means "ready to be filled with morphs." Cheers!

friscolives ( ) posted Wed, 10 November 2004 at 7:33 PM

It was Vicktoria 3 blank. Probably why nothing was working. Anyway the downloads I did seemed to solve the problem and I even ended up with a new victoria 3 model (victoria 3 MM sr2)

RHaseltine ( ) posted Thu, 11 November 2004 at 8:24 AM

The MM version is for use with the Head Sculpture Pack by Achilles. Assuming you are using the Head Morph Pack using it rather than the palin SR2 won't do any great harm, it just has extra morph channels (placeholders for injected morphs) that are needed for that product; obviously if you are using the Head Sculpture pack that is the one you should use anyway.
