Subject: Where are Ray Dream's Help files?

seedpress ( ) posted Thu, 07 December 2000 at 6:55 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 7:44 PM

I'm a late starter--just got Ray Dream 5.5, but when I try to use the help files all I get is the message that the program can't find the help file called "RDD.hlp". It's nowhere on my drive, nor on the program CDs. A tutorial by Bushi mentions accessing a help note with the help button, so I'm wondering if maybe RDS 5.5 was supposed to have a help file, but maybe it wasn't installed--just like several other files. Anybody out there know the answer? Do you have accessable help files on your copy of RDS 5.5?

Works fine on mine. Did you perform a full install or a custom install? The files are within the installer, not contained in an accessible folder on the CD's. Mark

Thanks. I went back and ran a "custom" install on top of my first, "typical" install, and NOW I HAVE THE HELP FILES. They should have been in the typical install because they are small. When I click on the Painter 3D pop-up help, I still get the message: ". .can't find cDetMod.hlp. Oh well, MetaCreations has a lot of MicroSoft running in its veins!!!
