This is the beginning of a new scene Im working on, inspired by Solaris (book/movie) and by some stuff that you can see in the fractal gallery. I havent really begun on the vessel and the space details yet so Im not sure where this will end.

The different parts of the image will be made available as an ad on to my Space background making set (maybe you have seen it being used) and separated into layers that you can play around with in Photoshop, Paintshop or with the Gimp. Ill post it here when finished.

This is the one I made in KPT like year ago, I used for a webpage background for a friend, both KPT and Apophysis are good, Apophysis actually has a great amount of control, so, don't be scared no more, Rudy ! :P

Beautiful background indeed! THANK YOU for sharing this link, I'll give a look right now. Since you have to pay for KPT filters (anyway it's worth to, it's a wonderful filter collection), if you want you can download the GIMP for free, there is also a very similiar (quite identical) tool in the FILTERS menu. The GIMP is also a beautiful 2D application. http://www.gimp.org/ /matteo

Heres the next WIP. The ship is modelled and rendered with C4D. I dont know if I will stick to this version or add/change some details.

Ideas are welcome but Im not going to add any explosions, guns/cannons or any stuff like that.
