These non free models and stuff makes me crazy I'm a student and I dont have regular incomes so I am not able to get my hand on any creditcards (at least not in Finland where regular incomes are needed for creditcard). AAARRGH! There are many useful non free hairs and model to have (ex. Vicky) -=Ishtar=-

Yes, I totally understand you Ishtar - but imagine sometimes there is a lot of work in some things and if you spent many many hours (at least months) in front of your computer to make something - why not be paid for this. I recently sold many of my new poses to Forge. So this poses won't be available for free. But I think at least this is my own right - I think I made enough poses available for free. Of course this won't mean an end for free poses ... But in some topics you're right - it isn't soooo good to sell something even if you've never given away something for free. But mostly the quality of this things isn't so well ;-). Don't be sad - once you're finished with your studies until then be glad there are enough people making free things like Steve, Rena, Nerd, Traveller, Bushi, ... (just to name a few).

Ishtar..don't take it to heart! :o) After all..not everybody has got everything! Look at me! I own Vickie but I don't have Michael..yet, I'm hoping to save enough by Xmas to buy him! But..I AM downloading all stuff that seems interesting about him as you never know when they'll come in handy! That's what you should do as well..get the files while available and who knows...maybe soon you'll be able to afford the models you wish for one at a time! I guess patience comes with age! :o) On the other hand...there's so much free stuff available around to please your wishes that I am seriously tempted to think of you as a greedy one wishing to own it ALL! LOL! renapd

I understand that everything is not free. Artists are doing here a lot of great work for free. If you are a student then you should be able to find what you need for free. I have nine CDs full of free stuff done by great artists. Why are you complaining about the other stuffs. You can get thousands of free items. There are about 300 sites that provides free stuff. If you you want the last update or the last item in the internet then it is like luxury....You have have to pay for them.

Ishtar, there is anything and everything available here, at Renderotica, 3DCommune, The Props Guild, the PFO, 3DCafe,(shall I go on, LOL?!) Anyways, if you prowl those sites, and go to Lannies 3D links, you'll find anything you need or could want. Yes, it's nice to have the high end items all available, but sometimes, you spend that money, and the file just sits there, unused and unloved. *Like Vickie here. I have her and Michael. I've fiddled with Vickie maybe two days. I've had Michael scince day 1. They completely disappointed me, and they cost some bucks there!* Get UVMapper, maybe a 3D editor that works with 3DS and Object formats, and nothing will be denied you with a little creativity. Good luck! =) Veth

jepp i think for poser-family-members outside the usa is a hart and danger way too buy some special props items and figurs. And it is cost a lot of money. Yes for some artists i will pay the price, well the do a great work and i will pay for that. but, some one think he can make a simpel prop sale it for poser and if you download his "great" stuff you see hi have a good idea and a bad way too make it in poser. so, look on every item befor you buy an hop you pay not too mutch money bevor you know howe actors are there price right and were the others. leeroy5

Well, this American doesn't have a lot of disposable income, I have to watch my pennies, but I will buy an item if it's something I feel I really need or want. I really have to think hard about it before I take the plunge, though. I've passed up a lot of nice things just because I couldn't afford them. I still go for the free stuff. It appears that there's actually a lot more free stuff than the for-sale things, anyway, and so much of it is really excellent quality. Hang in there, Ishtar, maybe you know someone who can give you one of them for your birthday. Melanie

In Sweden where i live people can buy a motorcycle, a boat, or a snowmobile for $10.000+. 3DS MAX is only about $4.000 but people (even i) think thats way too much to spend on a software package, even if they would use the software much more than the car/boat/mc. I even think that the loss of value for the software is lower then a snowmobile. Does that really make sense? As for the existence of pay-characters i don't see the point. "I bought a new car. Why do i have to pay for gas?" ishtar: I was once a student too and had exactly your problems. All i can tell you is that some day, school is over. :o) /Ohman

RMWM - that is for example what this (and the two other) forums are good for - you can ask if the model is worth the prize. And afaik Zygote (e.g.) gives a payback guarantee (if you don't like the model you bought). I have seen many people asking this and many people replied ...

Softsnow ( ) posted Mon, 11 December 2000 at 9:49 AM

Look around too. If you are a student or an educator, a lot of times you can get software for substantial discounts. You can get 3D Studio Max for $899 (US) if you are a student or educator. I couldn't afford most of the software I have if I didn't get that discount. (as us American teachers don't recieve much in the way of income) Pat
