there's two ways to do this. rochr is the person to ask as it's his technique, but i'll fill in with whatever i found out from it. The original thread can be found at the link, together with a sample and a short how-to. I'd share the one I made for the CGTalk thing, but I'm not sure it would sit too well with the fine hair-combers over there. Basically on a back bg trace some straight white lines and cut them at random with a fine brush. The following presumes you already have that reference file or have created your own: So yeah: 1. The postwork Rochr way - as explained at the link. 2. The texture way -as shown in the pic, in the ambience field, and with Rochr's thingamobob. Mind you, I do believe ambience in the C level, and not B as I've placed it above. 3. A combination of both, using 2 to render your picture, then rendering the image without any lights (no sunlight or spots), with postwork in photoshop by adding the new render unto a new layer above the original render as a "Screen" blending mode, blurring the lights a bit, doing whatever you wish :) Qs? Comments? Bug Rochr :P drac ps: wings'ers: define some faces with a new color, add the texture in Bryce. voila. You can also rotate them, etc.

Oh i really think you should take credit for your part. After all, you came up with an easy way to add these without using postwork. (although some images may still require some) Therefore ive renamed the thread to something more suitable. :)
