Subject: how can I get mike 2 face textures to fit Mike 3?

I got this little problem, I cant get a cr2 of a remapped UV mike 3, Im not sure how to go about remapping the UV myself, And the mike 3 face template is just really weird, so what can I do? I want to convert a face /head texture of mike 2 to fit mike 3 but the angle of the uv map seems like it wont work right by looking at the template of mike 3's head...His nostrols seem to block any attempt to properly adapt a mike 2 texture lol.

If anyone knows how to make facial hair as well let me know how this was done?

Use the Universal Texture Convertor available from DAZ. There are various plugins which will enable you to convert from one DAZ model to another. The facial hair on the pic looks like postwork to me. That is, it was painted after the render. As for how to do it, well that's a huge can of worms and there are hundreds of different methods of postworking hair. There are lots of tutorials but right now I couldn't point you to any.

Just in the interest of clarity -- A cr2 does not contain any UV information of any kind. UV information is in the associated obj file. Obj files may be remapped in several applications, including the free UVmapper. If you were to remap the obj file but not change its name, the associated cr2 would work the same as before.

Not sure how to uv map it without selecting the whole figure for a planer uv mapping...Ill see what Daz has...this is getting complicated.

Trust me on this, the Universal Texture Converter is the best money you'll spend if you;ve got a lot of M2 textures you really like. I got it and converted my entire library of M2 testures to M3 in an afternoon. It even makes the pose files for you. As for the hair in post 2, it looks more like a displacement map to me in P5.

One of the very first things I asked for in the DAZ forums was a set of M2 .uvs files for M3 just like they did for V3. I ended up getting the texture converter, it's not perfect, but it's still rather good, and a heck of a lot easier than re-mapping M3! :)

The Universal Texture Converter does an excellent job of converting M2/V2 textures to M3/V3 figures. It's a very easy program to use too.
