The Curious Labs website has the Poser 4 manual in PDF format. Click on downloads. Then on updates and documentation. Then from the pulldowns select Poser 4, Windows or Macintosh, and your language (English?) And it is free, you don't have to buy anything. Plus you might want to dwonload the Poser 4 service release while you are at it. http://www.curiouslabs.com

Yes, definitely get the manual from CL. But, IMHO, I don't think there are any worthwhile published Poser books. The manual will do a better job getting you started.

Also, I'd recommend you seek out Dr. Geep's series of tutorials here. There are dozens of them and you can track them down by doing a search in the Poser Forum for "Geep"

Best of luck!

Thanks all for your quick reply. I have the Poser 4 manual in pdf but would rather have a printed one. I know theres 1 poser book by Shammus Mortier but it has gotten alot of bad reviews. If someone hears of a manual for sale please let me know. Thanks again :)

In my opinion, the Poser 4 manual wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. Neither was the Poser 5 manual.

Hi I would avoid the Shammus Mortier book. I got it when I started wtih poser and it was a big disapointment! I learnt most of what I know about poser from the tutorials of all the brilliant poser people here.

I have the Poser 4 Manual and to be honest I learned more from Dr Geep's Tutes! Do a search here for them - you won't be disappointed!!
