me makin a lotta typos .. to many anywhew, the question was, is there any sister prog to bryce that can take care of rendering only ? my cpu is very often too weak to handle complex things. if there is such a program, i would be most grateful to see a link to it thanx. oh ... btw .. You guys that keeps posting things in the galleries... YOU ROCK :-) keep up the good work

Let me know what you find. While my 800 Mhz Athlon is by no mean wimpy, it dows take 24+ hours to render complex images. The present one takeing 36+ hours.

Dang what are you guys rendering? Alot of tranparencies and volumetrics I presume. I have never had a render more than 15 hours and I clutter my scenes till my card chugs!

Same here I have had very complex scenes to where the 750mhz is starting to slow big time but the render never really takes that long. I think my machine would start smoking if it had to render that long. Let me know what kinda scenes you are doing. I found a place here in Chicago that is selling dual pentium 3 933mhz with 526 megs of ram and windows NT for $2299 I am thinking of buying that machine. I dont know of any sencondary programs though I guess I got off the subject.

Here is a sample of what I am rendering: The outfits, the lamps, the china cabinet, and the glasses inside are all glass. This render took roughly 36 hours.

Let me correct myself: the outfits use three or four trans maps apeice and then there is the glass. I just cannot type worth anything tonight.

You might check into Vue D'Esprit, its similair to Bryce and I think around the same price range. We have a Vue forum here you could ask for more information from. Ken
