Subject: creating a drawing from a photo

hello,
I am new to the community and have some backgroung and trainging in photoshop, but neeed some help. I wanted to take some pictures I have and make them appear to be drawings or paintings. Basically I want to take a picture and turn it into art, if you will. Could anyone give me some pointers or direction to find some help?

They have good tutorials here http://www.good-tutorials.com/tutorials/9?change=1&view=10 and http://escrappers.com/ do a Google search for photoshop actions. there is lots of good sketch and paint actions out there. i forget where I downloaded mine at :o( deelo's pencil sketch

Quick ways: Smart Blur white only adjust then run a filter like paint dubs the texturize with stucko. Duplicate layer blending method color dodge desaturate the layer and invert Add noise then unsharp mask filter Find edges then invert then adust brightness contrast then distort blur anoscopic this is short hand but might help
