For all those who have missed my previous thread I am introducing the Nea project for posette:

See the link for more info and previews

Till now many memebers responded and offered help (thanks goes to: mathman, lesbentley, momodot, Tormentor, JanReinar, Adavyss, stahlratte) so this project will be even better at the end!

Thanks for all of your hard work and your generosity, pitklad. You have created a great new character with lots of versatility.

webvogel ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 7:10 AM

My first thoughts looking at the face are: Overall smothing of face is good, more natural. Eyes and nose look good too, but the lips are, much better then the default possette, a little too symetric in default position. The lower lip looks great, upper part will need various morphs to make, if you dont want her looking like just a new and different "plastic doll" Greetings! btw. A very welcome and interresting project, i like to use it when ready.

The concept of Nea is not to completely change Posette, the basic shape is the same but smoother. So the new morphs should be better too...

Nea uses V2 textures I've reworked the head uvs completely and the body UVS is based on AprilYSH remmapped posette in this image Victoria and Nea use the same texture

A_ ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 8:01 AM

looks very interesting! thanks for your generosity.

narcissus ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 8:12 AM

Actually this project is still WIP... I have worked this to some point and now I want anyone help from people to make this project as good as possible! I also want people to make comments and express their wish list for this figure! pitklad

webvogel ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 8:23 AM

The modell looks very good, and ....YEAHHHHH ! the terrible brow area is fixed with your creation! :O)))))

narcissus ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 8:56 AM

As a plus to the final edition I'm planing to do some hybrids with Neas head and Judy's,Maya doll's,Victoria's low res body versions... pitklad

Lyrra ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 11:00 AM

pitklad I've hung onto some of the magnets I used to make my Judy bodymorphs. If you like I could make full bodymorphs for Nea. Lyrra

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 11:53 AM

VERY cool! Could you do something with the dork please :)

illusions2K ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 12:47 PM

PapaBlueMarlin I am working on a Dork figure but I am having some troubles but the rest is coming along fine..tell me what you want to see for the Dork and maybe i can include it

illusions2K ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 12:51 PM

I will soon post some pictures of what I have made so far. and you will be amazed he does not look like Dork anymore so new names will be appriciated

mateo_sancarlos ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 1:18 PM

Since the Posette model is 6 years old now, CL may consider it obsolete, thus dropping it from Poser 6 and perhaps selling you some rights to it.

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 2:11 PM

I'd like to see some more face sculpturing morphs for Dork so his face isn't so blah...

illusions2K ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 2:35 PM

here is a picture so far..I know about his eyebrows I am working on that to find a solution and I am also working on his lacrimal he also will be able to take michael 1/2 textures

and here is one from the side:)

illusions2K ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 2:55 PM

PapaBlueMarlin is this face more to your liking? I tried to make some mixture between ethnics so that it is easier to create afro-american characters aswell as asian etc.. I will also try to make his mimic better so that you will have better pronuncation when using mimic 2:)

mathman ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:06 PM

Good work, illusions2K. Looks great !!

illusions2K ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:16 PM

pitklad that would be a great idea this will mean we will save time etc if we combine our products :)

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:20 PM

Illusions, the dork is looking a lot better! Is there a way to make the mouth a little less protruding?

narcissus ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:27 PM

Yes Illusions why not? It would be great to work together! pitklad

narcissus ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:44 PM

file_146177.jpg

This is a face I made using some of the over 80 morphs Nea has

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:47 PM

I know that Dorian and Nea will be able to use M2 and V2 textures. Does this mean they will have the same material zones as M2 and V2?

narcissus ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:51 PM

file_146178.jpg

Yes they will have the same material zones and will be able to take M2,V2 MAT poses.

illusions2K ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:51 PM

PapaBlueMarlin hmm I don't know about the mat. zones but I reckon if you regroup posette/dork that it can be done but I am not sure about that.. I have to figure that out lol

narcissus ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:55 PM

file_146179.jpg

the only difference will be on the teeth since Nea & Dorian will have new Teeth and they will accept differnet texture map

Lyrra ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 12:57 AM

send the files along to my rosity email account .. same for the reworked dork files if you want a hand so any more unusual requests for bodymorphs? I'm not sure I can manage muscle stuff yet though. I figured on about the same as I did in the Judy SHOW set .. but it will depend how Nea's mesh reacts.

Lunaseas ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 6:59 AM

How bout Neil for a name?;)

webvogel ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 2:11 PM

It get`s very exciting with the Project. Wow, i call it good news that the dork got some "face-lifting" too.

webvogel ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 2:17 PM

Why not "Lex" ??????? Lex & Nea --- Nea&Lex. Sounds not bad!?

A_ ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 4:17 PM

I like Lex. :)

Lunaseas ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 4:31 PM

Lex is cool, specially how he looks a little like Lex Luthor as played by Michael Rosenbaum on Smallville.:)

mathman ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 8:05 PM

Whatever happened to poor Dorian ?

momodot ( ) posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 8:10 PM

I can not say how excited I am about this project! I am very grateful that narcissus has taken this on... the work looks beautiful, and is very usefull to me given that although I have P5 I still work mainly with Dork and Posette for speed etc. Thank you narcissus.

FishNose ( ) posted Thu, 25 November 2004 at 5:06 AM ยท edited Thu, 25 November 2004 at 5:07 AM

Ths is looking greeat!!!

I have a detail: The comparative render with Vicki and Nea with same Zrincx texture: Since Vicki has rather 'narrow' eyes and Posette has 'wide' ones, the eyebrows stop short and drop too early towards the outer ends.

One either needs to make the eyes a bit narrower in default or stretch the UV mapping a bit to extend the brows a little further out.
The second alternative is probably preferable and easier to do.
This is great work!

Thanks for the notish FishNose! I had this in mind and I'll try to fix this! Making Nea accept V2 maps was the most difficult part of this project! Espesialy the eyelashes were rebuilt in Wings and then matching the UVS was a nightmare too! I forgot to mention that Nea accepts posette head/body morphs althought full face morphs dont work very well... Anyway till now Nea has more then 100 face morphs plus 25 expression morphs,so reshaping her wouldn't be a problem! pitklad

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Thu, 25 November 2004 at 11:37 AM

I have ignored Posette and Dork for years, so any excuse to get them out and play with them again would be great :)

There are so many cool thing out there for Posette and Dork that it is a pity to throw them away. I try to use all the models I have! Not for any other reason then boredom! pitklad

Nea is amazingly versatile, and you can create a whole variety of characters from her :)

...here is another one :)

narcissus ( ) posted Fri, 26 November 2004 at 7:52 AM

Nice renders Andrew! :^)

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2004 at 6:07 PM

Since you guys are doing such a great job on Dork and Posette, I was wondering if you knew how to remap Neftis' Elle in order to take either V2 or V3 textures?

narcissus ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2004 at 7:45 PM

If I had her I may try it... V3 body would be quite impossible thought. V2 is easier to be done. It needs very much time and patience... pitklad
