This is concerning a recent free model.

The place is real, just in case anyone was wondering. (I am sure you all were, lol).

It was built in about 1899 in South Africa in a very remote area by a woman whose name is not known. She raised twelve orphans in the house, and the British soldiers who fought in the area during the Anglo-Boer war of the early 1900's found the house, and that is the origin of the nursery rhyme, the one about the old woman who lived in a shoe.

The house is now owned by a private artist and forms part of a museum complex which includes some man-made caves and some amazing wooden sculptures.

The inside of the house has been restored and even has the old woman's bible and her glasses, as well as her clothes and that of some of the children she raised. The original house had wooden shutters and things, and wasn't painted like this, but you can get a good idea of what it originally looked like.

Ever wonder what became of the old woman? After all her children grew up and went off to "Oxford", she toured the country in a roller-skate then finally retired to a sandal in Florida...

I think she died of a bad case of athlete's foot.
