Subject: Soften expressions

When applying expressions they're usually too exagerated, any way of toning them down..?? Like when you apply an "anger" expression it seems to be "somebody burned my house, I'm gonna kill everyone on the neighbourhood"... could it just be "shite! I lost my keys again"... I mean, could the expressions be applied in a partial (some percentage maybe?) way, without the need to fiddle all the morph targets in the face manually..?

  1. apply the expression

  2. Figure->Create Full Body Morph
    (name it as you wish)

  3. select 'Body'

  4. at the parameters tab - new parameter (Other)
    Decrease it as much as you want.

Yes, it works but... it softens the rest of the morphs I have used in the body and the face. Anyway, it might just be impossible to do what i want, it doesn't really matter I'll tweak the dials manually like always do. Just thought there might be some quicker way... Thanks Candid!

ok, there is another way.

  1. Select head
  2. Apply the expression
  3. With the head still selected
    Object->Spawn Morph Target (give it a name)
  4. Look at parameters, in 'Morph', there must be the morph you've just created. Decrease it a little.

It must be affecting only the head (not the other body parts)

Well it will affect the other head morphs but that is unavoidable if they are affecting same points.

You can also (before you use the expression) load the default figure with no expression; apply the expression as frame 30 of an animation. Back up to frame 1 and cycle through until you find a degree of the expression you like. Then save it. It's work but...
