Subject: Whats with the Mike/Vicky 3RR figures?

Doran ( ) posted Thu, 25 November 2004 at 11:43 PM · edited Tue, 21 January 2025 at 11:28 PM

I picked up both of the reduced resolution figures, they being Michael 3 and Victoria 3 RR. I was very happy with the realistic appearances but there was one big issue I had with them both. Their missing their 'happy parts'. Vicky 3RR has no nipples or pubic hair and, poor Michael 3RR has no... well... dick. I feel as if I had missed something in the product description before the purchase but, hey, its too late now. Is this the way they come or am I overlooking some dial or setting. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

I got them in the bundle deal and this is the way they are i assume this is true of the offer of the individual models. if you want all the parts, you have to get the full model. the RR models are made for medium to long range shots where you wont (or shouldn't) notice these parts absent. and with DAZ its not too late if your within 30days of purchase.... they have an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee.

There are many 'parts' available although not on this site. And the high rez victoria desn't have her lower parts anyway although if steph prtite is any indication there is the polygones down there to morph into them.

Five minutes with a couple of magnets and V3RR has nipples.

What resolution Mike/Vicky 3RR are? What's their obj file?

AntoniaTiger ( ) posted Fri, 26 November 2004 at 4:51 AM

Yes, the polygons are there for the nipples, and it's not hard to make a morph. It's a little hard for me to judge the resolution, but I think the RR versions have polygon counts close to Don and Judy. Which is still pretty good.

narcissus ( ) posted Fri, 26 November 2004 at 5:02 AM

That means that those are close to M2-V2? If so those figures should be good even in close ups with good textures! Even V1LoRes was as good as V2 when using the same texture! hmmmm I must get those figures too then! :^)

AntoniaTiger ( ) posted Fri, 26 November 2004 at 5:34 AM

Yes, they seem very usable figures, though remember that DAZ completely changed the texture-map layouts from the earlier Mike and Vicky. The RR packs I have (from the 3D Starter set) don't seem to have any provision for backward compatibility. And I found the downloads awkwardly large. The 3D Starter Pack also includes a sword. But no temple. DAX know us too well...

Here's some hard figures for the polygon counts. P4 Nude Woman (Posette) 16380 Vicky 1 Reduced Resolution 19299 P5 Nude Woman (Judy) 24387 Vicky 3 Reduced Resolution 24406 Vicky 2 28984 Judy, Vicky 1, and Vicky 2 seem to be able to use the same textures. I expect Mike to have similar numbers. (I recall seeing a site which had a lot of this sort of info, about model complexity and compatibility, but I've never been able to find is again...)

I would classify them as med resolution figures then in the current poser scene,in the same category as V1,M1,Judy,Don,Maya Doll,Natalia.

In the High Resolution sould be the 3rd generation Daz figures ,Dina and Solondra

And in the Low resolution should go Posette,Dork,V1&M1 LoRes

Thanks for the info!

Yeah they are fine for close shots, especially with poser 5 and it's smoothing, they look really good. You gotta get a better texture then the one included in teh pack though.

Why not try either Daio's Raven or L75's Nando, they work great on M3RR even at close range. Also, PoserPros has some very nice textures in their Pro Club section (2.49 w/no membership fee!)

Well, cool. Thanks for coming out in force, my R'osity brother and sisters. I have a lot of info here. I think I will just keep these figures though and buy V3 and M3 later. these are nice figures. Anyway, thanks so much for the assistance from so many of you. This was a great response to my question. I don't think I have ever gotten this many replies before. Excellent!
