I am pretty new to Poser. I don't have any problems with shadows showing up after rendering with respect to objects that a character might hold: A torch, staff, etc. But I cannot see ground shadows from the character or objects on the ground. I am using background images, but they don't show up on the default "new" poser session after rendering either. What am I doing wrong? thanks in advance. Bryan

The ground shadow you see in the poser display does not render, it is only a guide. If you want shadows to show up on backgrounds or the floor, import a floor or wall prop and map the images to them.

Thank you for responding. Is there any way to map a character to a .jpg background image, like a mountain scene, and have shadows show up like that? or do I need to import an actual prop floor or something? thanks again. Bryan

You need to import a prop, map your background image to that and maybe put the sky as your background JPG (you wouldn't want shadows on that).
