I put this together at 10 am Australian time, want to leave it like it it is but my girlfriend said it's missing something or something needs doing to it. I have looked at it a few times but can't see anything that needs adding or doing to it so maybe you guys can help me in these areas.

Tough to say if it is day or night...but that could be my monitor. I'm guessing night so...might be cool to put a moon map on the face of the moon there and some lights on the ships.

It's not your monitor. It is actually the sun but i messed around with the sky lab and ended up with a sky like that. I have tried using the moon with the same clouding but it turns the clouding red/orange and gives the sky a different colour. Can't add lights to the ships as they aren't a model i did and i don't really like to add things to models others have done. that's why i have left them with the one blue light down their side.

Aye, I think that if you're going to use another person's model at all, you might as well tweak it to your hearts content. You're already doing that, anyway! The only thing I can think of, aside from lights or engine flares, would be compositional. There are three elements to this image, the trees, the ships, and the sky. Perhaps adding a few more elements would make it a more interesting picture, such as small clouds of a different style, or some birds, or something like that...?

Shadowdragon i don't understand what you mean or what you are getting at when you said "you might as well tweak it to your hearts content. You're already doing that, anyway!" If you are on about the spaceship, sorry my friend i haven't done anything to it. It is exactly like it was the day i bought it off the market(you can see by the image), only thing i do to models and this is only if they need them is i add textures to them.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Mon, 29 November 2004 at 2:55 AM

Exactly my point, my friend... You bought the model, which means it's yours. Obviously, you can't resell it as yours or anything that would infringe upon copyrights, but seriously you can do whatever you want to it now! Adding some lights in post would be much easier than tweaking the actual geometry, in this case. If you add any Brycean lights to your scene it will certainly interfere with your lighting scheme, and most likely make the trees look silly. But you could use ranged lights, or spotlights to light the ships up a bit... Create a sphere, set it to "hidden", call it something like, "Light Target". Then put the sphere(s) where you want to shine lights. Make a spotlight, and set it to Track your null-sphere... Piece of cake!

You need some cows getting sucked up into the tractor beam. Great start. I would create spheres for round windows and squares squashed into rectangles for rectangular windows and give them a colored glass tex, then put a radial light behind them. I know it is ALOT more work, but lights are cool.

Shadowdragon sorry for my mis-understanding. I actually never thought i could do anything like adding lights to a model. I'll try adding some lights and see how i go doing it, not in post work because i don't have PS and i don't have a full understanding of PSP. Groingrinder i don't think they can fit another cow on board even though the spaceship is 1490 ft long, 355 ft wide and 228 ft high.between all of them have 9000 head of cows plus well over 5,000,000 other animals and 70,000 human and alien life forms on board. As for the windows if you look at the image of just the spaceshipt i think you'll agree that there is enough windows on it ;)

Aye, in this case, since your image has come so far already, a few quick lens-flare style lights done in post would be much faster... Perhaps someone with PSP could help you out?
