THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Material preview window question

Hi All, Fairly new to Bryce and am enjoying myself (although these 3am sessions are killing me!). Anyway, I have a question regarding the Material preview window. I want to view the actual selection in the preview to see the effects of my choice. Thing is, many of the times the object is either too small or way off center so it isn't possible. I know I can click-move the the mouse to rotate the preview camera around and there is a click-key combo to move the object in/out (not sure what at the moment as I am at work). But is there some way I can move the object on the y and x axes to go up/down, left/right?? If I could do that, I'd be able to zoom in and maybe even find the preview useful to half my objects! thanks...Dave

Hold down Control-left click= zoom in and out and rotate around object.

Hold down Spacebar-left click= move up and down, right and left.
The cursor should be on the preview window in both cases.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

you could always just create a box with your mouse by clicking and dragging in the render mode. like you click the big round render button, cancel the render, select the part of the screen you only want rendered, and a little render button will show up next to that selection. just as you'd be selecting icons on your desktop. drac

tjohn/drac, Thanks both of you! What a time saver this will be.
