This is always a bit of a time consuming task. I am always very pleased when I download a sword that is already a 'smart prop'. Have you female in the Default pose. The hand that you wish to grip the sword needs to be rotated so that the palm faces the floor. Load your sword prop into the scene. You will then have to use the parameter dials to move the sword and position it so that the handle of the sword is right up against the palm of the female's hand, then if you do not have a hand pose that already is for grasping an object, you will have to manually make the hand and fingers grasp the sword's hilt (handle). Now select the sword and double click and a dialogue box will appear. You'll want Set Parent. When you click that, it will give you a long selection of the various body parts of the femeale. Search through the list for the hand of the figure you've manueavued the sword to (usually the right hand). When you find it, double click the name. The dialogue boxes then disappear and the sword is now Parented to the hand of the figure. It is a good idea then, to reselect the sword and save it back to your prop library. One of the questions asked then by the program is "This prop has a parent. Save as smart prop?" Click yes. This means next time you wish to use the sword, it will automatically go to the hand you parented it to and save you the time of doing this all over again. Liz
