Subject: Ammo feed chain or wire

Im attempting to make a figure much like a TAU drone from Warhammer 40k. Its a flying saucer robot-ish thing. Now im also making a bunch of turrets that attach to the bottom of the saucer. what i am wondering is: is there an easy way to make objects behave like an ammo feed in that if i were to move the cannon the one part of the ammo feed would stay connected to the cannon, the other to the saucer, and the length would remain the same.

It sounds as though you're looking for something which resembles one of the many chain-objects that people have made. At least, they can do that sort of bend-without-stretch. They're characters, rather than props. Sometimes a model works best as a character with props attached for some items.

HI, I do the odd custom prop for people and if you can give me some level of mockup or a basic render of your figure I could whip up a character. I have made martial arts weapons that are chain or flex and are held one in each hand. If I do the right kind of IK chain for it you can move the cannon and the feed will drape in a natural way. to do this I would need some form of render of the gizmo you need to attach it to and it would be better to have the turret and cannon as a .3ds or poser ready prop so that I can model to scale. (a sketch of what type of feed chain you want would also be VERY helpfull) diviner
