You can tell our local highways agency anything with complete confidence !

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

It does look like it has been interpolated some what.

Yes I took this shot sunday 5th December @12:48. This sign is near where I live, about 5 miles away. I am aware that there are pictures on the net which is why I deliberately took a different sign post to the ones I have seen. The ones I have seen have all been taken of a sign in the opposite direction with A414 Chelmsford on them. Sorry I don't know what interpolated means - it is not a very good shot I put that down to my camera and the light being behind the sign. I have cropped and added contrast with psp9 but if you would prefer I post the original untouched I will send it to you, the file is too large to go straight to this forum with a 200kb limit. Interpolation is a method used to increase the size/resolution of an image using software. This can result in a grainy/pixelated image. No offence ment I was just being my cynical self LP

Yeah.. sorry about that.. only quickly browsed the forum last few days. I looked up the pictures and indeed they are of the other side. Cool to see the signs are real :) When you see things like that in movies you can't imagine someone would put up a sign like that for real.

They are a bit of a joke over here, they were all very secret during the cold war, but now they are just visitor attractions. Guess thay have to make them pat for theirselves now.
