I'm thinking of purchasing the above set from DAZ, can persons that own it please give me an honest opinion of how good it is. Is it any good for close work or are the textures etc. not good enough for that.

I can't comment on that set as i don't have it, wasn't going to comment at all but seeing no one has i'll say have a look at Stonemason's stuff at DAZ his work is awesome and he has a few SciFi things.......Steve

Are you talking about Stonemason's stuff of Davo's (davorama)? Either is more than worth the money. Level 19 has some wonderful detail. Davo's shuttle, ground car, and other assorted packs have good quality textures, all the hoses are EasyPose ready, and the modular structuring lets you choose what props to use from what package. I have both, and combine them happily all the time.

I own it (couldn't afford it AND Level 19, but someday...) and it's gorgeous. Someday I hope to be able to do art that comes close to what the SFCS has in it.

I own it and it's worth every single cent. It's fantastic for making your own scenes, and it 'puts together' quite well. Great for close ups. The grey texturing shown in the images comes with it. There is a texture add on pack at Beyond Bent that's worth owing if you do get the SFCS. (www.beyondbent.com, go to products, then page 2) Outstanding package, and worth owning for sure :)

Level 19 is awesome! :)

Have you put the new corridor into a scene with the level yet, Xena? The doors match up, and just cry for careful lighting to have one of those dramatic, 'at the door' stances. Now If I can get the thing to work with the Antares bridge set....

Oh don't tempt me Dale :) I so don't have time to play at the moment and if Stef keeps making these cool environments I might have to swim across to NZ and choke him LOL Of course, knowing me I'd get there and just beg him to make more instead ;)

Whyever not? Temptation is the spice if life, after all... Then how about a level 19 with a crowd of offical types, like they just got off a shuttle for an insptection, and framed in the doorway into the the corridor you have a couple of tech types, obviously impatient and assuming that =no one= would be down there in that corridor... Don't you just love the 'Oh Shit!' deer-in-the-headlights looks such moments bring forth....?

There's a very good pack of textures in the Platinum Club range, about 20 megabytes, sci-fi stuff of one sort and another. I think it's meant for Bryce, but the actual texture-maps are worth having. It should go well with most of the sci-fi and indutrial background props. There's plenty of other good stuff if money is a problem, but the different pieces don't always mix and match very well.

I have the SFCS by Davorama, and found it a great set. You just have to get this...very versatile, it works fine at close renders and so on. Thumbs up and a 10. He also has some other great SciFi sets that match this one greatly.
