i was doing some never ending P5 runtime organization. And i found theese folders that arent in all my runtimes and i was wondering what there for? (Gamevoice,Gravis,&Strategic commander)

Gravis make joysticks and controllers. Strategic Commander sounds like a game. Sounds like you somehow got some game related stuff mixed in with your Poser stuff unless someone else has another explanation.

i think they have something to do poser gaming . sound effects and i seen TUT with stratgy commander being utilize for animation purposes. But that was a long time ago. I think Gravis also has a chracter package of different warrios like pikeman pallidan barbarian & merc .etc i should check out posergamer site maybe

Gamevoice = Microsoft Headset controller. can be programmed to take vocal commands. eg : Fire guns. in theory you can program it to any command in a program.. I should try it sometime...

I was wondering about these, too (I thought it was maybe some kind of spyware).

If other people have them as well I guess they're part of some standard installation. Do they have anything in them? Maybe CL was going to make Poser 5 voice activated :-) Methastopholis, ar you thinking of Malis (John) who does the Poser Gamer's stuff?

here the folder tree's for each differnt folder in question... Gamevoice- has a file with a .swv ext . startegic commander has 1 file .S14 ext. Gravis has 2 folders in it in order --xperience --gameset-- then a (poser.grx) file

I just IMed Methastopholis but for the record I just want to say that my products have nothing to do with these files that are mentioned. My Renderosity and RDNA products are in zip files so they can be unzipped and checked along with the files list included in the readme. Also the DAZ installers are the same for all brokers I assume and we don't make them but DAZ does. Again, this installer .exe from DAZ can be installed in any folder so you can go through all the folders and check to see what you're installing. You should find they all correspond to the included file list in the readme as well. As for Posergamers, that was the name of my site in it's many but short-lived incarnations. I chose that name because most of my characters are based on RPG character types, hence Poser + Gamers :)) Hope this clears things up a bit. Btw, some of my characters have been used by others to make sprites for game add-ons and mods, such as Myth, etc. Maybe that's causing the confusion?

I believe those were included in Schlabber's posing tutorial.

Khai ( ) posted Wed, 08 December 2004 at 11:26 PM

of course! he has his setup like so : Gamevoice for vocal commands to poser the Strategic commander is an advanced programmable gamepad idea... doh! using these, it would be possible to have vocla/fingertip control over poser without having to touch the key's or a mouse... I knew it but until the name was mentioned I forgot all about it.. yup he detailed it all in his tutorial

Khai ( ) posted Wed, 08 December 2004 at 11:31 PM

Man, it'd be cool to control your poser characters like VG characters...just push up on the stick, and they move forwards. Tap a button, and they shoot.
