Subject: M2 to M3 and/or V2 to V3 Morph Transfer, mmogul

I've been thinking that mmogul's transfer products went this way for like years. I've a new PC coming together, now, and was just about ready to buy them, but I see they are really only boy-girl and vs. versa! Does anyone have any idea how actually upgrade Vicky or Mike? I've heard tail of Lord Nakagawa's Free Stuff Item, but hav'nt acquired it. Nore am I sure of it's incorporation with the Tailor program. My experience with it is that the application has a bit to go without a G.U.I. = )

Angel, Last week, i submited a program ( UMT - Unimesh morph transfer ) that transfer any kind of injectables morphs between all daz people and freaks. But, as says the name, only between Unimesh based chars, in orther words, M3, V3, David, etc... To transfer morphs from M2 to M3 is a very difficult work, but i can say that the priciple must be the same of The Tailor. This program may help you.

mmogul, when you say you submitted the program do you mean it has to be reviewed by R'Osity staff ?

Yes, and it was approved and released today.

Yes and I've bought it and it works beautifully :) Does it work with the Aeon characters as well ?

mmogul ( ) posted Fri, 03 December 2004 at 1:22 PM

From Aeon PPros page :

"...ability to accept V3, SF and SP textures and injection morphs..."
"...Built off of the DAZ Unimesh..."
"...requires DAZ's Victoria 3 figure..."

So, Aeon belongs to the Group 2 mesh. ( i think )

... and Seth to Group 1 mesh...

I really liked this chars, but i will not buy it(by now) to test it. Could you try to extract some morphs and tell us about the results ??

Here you go .... Here is Posette 3 (Aeon) with the Frankenstein head morph for M3. Posette is not normally designed to take M3's morphs as they are in different groups, she takes V3 morphs and textures by default. AFAIK, some of the Aeon males take M3's morphs by default, and some take D3's morphs.

This product only works with DAZ unimesh figures... not with the Poser 5 family of figures?

mmogul ( ) posted Mon, 06 December 2004 at 8:24 PM

Sorry, only Daz Unimesh...

hauksdottir ( ) posted Mon, 06 December 2004 at 10:52 PM

:sigh: It would make the P5 family more usable if we could swap morphs around with a click of a button. Carolly

mmogul ( ) posted Tue, 07 December 2004 at 4:29 AM

i agree, but the mesh structures are completely distinct, its the same case of M2 or V2. ( see the item 2 of this topic)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Tue, 07 December 2004 at 5:56 AM

Are they that distinct? Since they all work in the face room, I thought they had to have the same vertex count and roughly the same placement?

Dons Head has less than 5000 verts... M3's head has more than 35000 verts.

Placement is not very important. But the vertex number and the topology are.

I wasn't thinking from Don to Mike... but from Don to Will and Judy to Don. Inter-family! "She's got her mother's eyes and her father's chin" sort of thing.

Additionally, if a person made a family of elves or ogres or little Frankesteinian monsters, it would be MUCH easier to keep it all in the family!

mmogul - After reading your reply: "To transfer morphs from M2 to M3 is a very difficult work, but i can say that the priciple must be the same of The Tailor. This program may help you." to my Thread: "M2 to M3 and/or V2 to V3 Morph Transfer, mmogul" I went ahead and purchased Your product, but now I'm a little concerned over how it's setup to do this! I see where to load M3's .obj, but how do I load M2 or V2's .obj? This is what I bought the application to do! mathman - How did you get this application to work with posette, where and what did you load her .obj file as?

mmogul ( ) posted Tue, 14 December 2004 at 1:13 PM

Sorry, but i said "This program (the tailor) may help you". UMT cant transfer morphs from M2 to V2 (...is a very difficult work, but i can say...)

mathman ( ) posted Tue, 14 December 2004 at 3:56 PM

Angelouscuitry, I didn't use Posette, I used "Posette 3", which is a unimesh character created by Dodger and available at PoserPros. regards, Andrew

mmogul, I read this thread and IMMEDIATELY bought your program. I have been waiting for something like this for over a year now. I am so happy. Finally, I can transfer cool morphs to M3. I am also happy to report that I run your program on my Mac. Yep, you read that right. I ran it on Virtual Pc Windows 98 and had no trouble translating morphs between Daz's V3/Sp/David and M3. I even had the program read from my Mac Poser runtime (a shared file) and Save in my Mac runtime too! I just ran Mac Converter once it was done, and Wa-La! M3 now has David's morphs and V3's Morphs. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I did however run into a few problems. 1) The Full Body Morph dials didn't work on M3, I had to set the morphs for each body part by hand. 2) I just bought Sixius1's Were morphs for both V3 and M3. V3 has some morphs that M3 doesn't have. I wanted to transfer them to M3, but it didn't work. His head got only one of the V3 were head morphs, but he did get the body morphs. 3) When I try to refine the Updates, it won't let me. I get a " Circulart reference not allowed! Master Actor not chaged" erorr message. I suspect this has something to do with errors I describe above. I am happy with UMT, so doubt. I just want to fix the glitches. and then I want to try to move my own morphs between figures. Wouldn't be cool to take a V3 character's face and make a chibi version of her for Laura? and I would love to find a way to Transfer Aiko's realistic and anime head morphs to M3. =) bB
