Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 18 2:22 am)
I have experienced this too. When I inspect the PZ3 using CR2Builder, it looks OK. I have the impression it has to do with invalid names, or maybe missing sections in the PZ3. It mainly happens when I use a lot of parented spotlights. No solution that I know of. Generally I just delete the files. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend applying SR4.1, it contains a lot of sorely needed bug fixes. Alas, this kind of problem still occurs from to time. It does not have to do with the upgrade itself; I can open all files I made using the original P5, SR1, SR2.1 and SR3.

This is not the first time I've experinced that type of corrupt pz3. Just 20 minutes ago, I'd made the best looking layout for a christmas card to a friend, and when I tried to load the snowman, Poser went beserk and started bitching about textures and whatnot. So I saved the file and ran Correct Reference, after that had been done, I reloaded the pz3, but GAH! everything was gone.. well, not gone per se, but it was as you described it, no lights, and no figures. I opened the pz3 file with Word and found the evil snowman from hell, and removed him from the pz3 file. (He only took up a few lines, so nothing big.) then I saved it in word and reloaded the file. tadaah! everything had come back, except the lights, but that's nothing big really. now I just have to save it again and i'm a happy camper... I'll see if the snowman will coorporate this time -_-

Recently I cannot open any Pz3 file I created (using P5 SR3). I mean, they open (way quicker then they did when they use to open properly) but nothing shows on the preview render window, the light control ball goes totally black and the number of frames (they're animations) is the default 30 instead of what they're supposed to be. The file sizes still show correctly, but obviously something has gone haywire. Anyone else ever experience this, know the cause or the solution? Can I somehow "repair" the Pz3 files and, if so, how?
