Hey Peacer,You might use a cone primative with trans or even trans map to get a beam in Poser 4. You could just attach the light to the cone ...
Not sure about a flashlight model. Have you tried 3D Cafe?
They have little things like that I think.
Best Wishes,
Rance Added link to 3D Cafe: there IS a flashlight in Lightwave format (I think)

Martian, yeah I'm interested. Could you maybe post a pic of it so I can see if that's what I'm looking for? As long as I can use it in Poser, I can just try to texture it myself. Thanks. If anyone can still help me with the flashlight model, please keep the replies commin' in. The more I get to choose from, the better! To Rance: I saw the Lightwave flashlight, but I don't think Poser imports Lightwave objects (or does it?). Is there any way to get it into Poser, and if so, how can I break it apart to texture different parts of the model?
Hi,
Check out Pretty3Ds excellent free products which include a lantern (i.e. flashlight) at Renderosity:

I think the flashlight comes with some poser lights but I can't remember.
I think Dr. Geep's tutorial about lighting seemed to cover the illumination issues.
Regards from Jovial.
If all else fails, I can tell you how to do the flashlight beam it in postwork. Create a layer create an elongated triangle, (you can use distort to shape it) an fill with a white or pale yellow, (or any color you want). using a blurr filter soften the edges. go to layer opacity and reduce the opacity till it is transparent to taste. create another layer make an oval to fit the wide end of the flashlight beam, use fill, blurr slighty, reduce opacity to taste.

Note: I have Poser 4. Hello, Well, first off, I was wondering where I can find a free model of a flashlight with some realistic textures (reflections, etc.)? I've tried PoserWorld, Renderosity, and searching the forums, but I couldn't find any flashlight models. Secondly, how would one go about creating a flashlight beam effect in Poser 4? I figure you just attach a spotlight to the flashlight to create the light, but what about a beam that gradually becomes transparent? And, most importantly, is it possible to have a texture effect on the beam of the light when it hits a surface, such as a wall? You know... that circular pattern projected onto surfaces from flashlights. Thanks.
