Subject: Bryce 4 and Maya 6 on mag coverdisk in UK

There's a couple of items on the latest PC Plus cover-disk in the UK. Bryce 4 has been on other magazines in the last couple of months, and I kept missing it. I understand it's a pretty useful tool. The Maya 6 PLE is limited by prominent wartermarking of renders

Yes, you can do a lot with Bryce 4.

Can't you download MayaPLE from maya's website as well?

Yes, you can. They just want to add lots of content to a CD, so they commonly put things like trials that are legally downloadable all over. It's not neccesarily a bad thing, but sometimes annoying when that's all it features.

The upside of stuff such as Maya PLE is that the DVD (or CD) doesn't need downloading. Reading the smaller print, Bryce 4 is on the CD version, Maya is added to the DVD.

ah..they've had Maya before, but there was the watermarking thing, and no export..managed to get Bryce 4 (now I have one for work, too..;) on the 3d World..which has hit the stores a coupla weeks ago here (we're waaaay behind on this side of the pond..;)
I'm a bit stuffy; if it watermarks, can't export or save, I tend to pass it by..but you can import Poser characters into Bryce; conversly, you can make pretty good landscapes to turn into backgrounds for Poser, so it works either way.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Now, if only I hadn't bought that DVD set on the 10th... (It is precious to me....)
