Subject: looking for a software that can.....

I'm looking for a software that can do a virtual 360 degree panorama view, but not looking from a fixed point outward in all directions, but rather, from all directions looking toward a fixed point. Imagine a room with a ball in the center, I want to be able to fly around the ball from all angles and look at it. I would like to be able to export this as a vr file that somebody can download and look at the ball from all angles with some kind of vr viewer. Do you guys know what I'm talking about? If you know of something, that would be great. I know that mojoworld sort of creates a panoramic vr file that people can look "around" from a fixed point, I'd like to go from the opposite direction. Ulead panarama 360 did something of what you are talking about but I don't know if the company is around anymore. You could try searching for Ulead and see.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Ulead is still around. But what's wrong with QuickTime VR? It goes both ways - you can visualize a room from a certain vantage point or visualize an object from all. Cinema 4D renders to it and I'm sure other software can do the same.

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

Nothing wrong with QuickTime VR I reckon. Just not familiar with it. The more options the merrier.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Actually, I just figured out (thank you Kuroyme) that corel photopaint will create a quicktime vr file, I'll do some experiments and see how that turns out. Thanks for your input guys! Davo

yeah, Quicktime can do it, provided you have the source material (there's a Star Trek Enterprise site out there that I lost, it had panoramas of the bridge, engineering, etc., could zoom and everything..if anyone knows where it is..;)
Couldn't Poser animation do this? just curious; I know there's a Poser site out there that has a lady bowing to a knight (and losing garmets as she goes..;), which flies around her..so it could be done.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

here's a wild one: Hash's Animation:Master spline-generated render of either static shot OR animation, with Arctic Pig's browser driven fly around in real time. www.hash.com ::::: Opera :::::

Give hdri shop a whirl. I think it can do what you want. Or go to http://athens.ict.usc.edu/Probes/ They'll probably have something that you can use that's already made.

why not use the poser VRML export and use the study option in the resulting files?
