Since Xmas, I've been busy with 2 things: Work(unavoidable);).........And, got the book "The DA VINCI Code". Spent almost 3 days with no sleep, working and reading it. Couldn't put the damn thing down. If you haven't read it, I strongly recommend it. The kicker is I was also given "Angels & Demons" by the same author. I don't want to pick it up. This may seem normal to some, but I haven't read a novel in years.Hmmmm, ya never know. (R&R = Reading and Reading) ICM

:-D I've read them both and liked both although I wouldn't have said they were as good as the hype about them. I really want to see that templar church the next time I'm in the UK, its a real place as are most of the places in the books. :-D

Also there's a great website puzzle that leads you around the web and even involves making a phone call to an answer phone to get more clues. It was part of a competition that's since ended, but the game is (or was) still intact. I did it before I read the book. but it's probably easier afterwards.

Ang - I wanted to visit that church too! I worked in the city for 5 years and only got to that part of the book once I had left England. Talk about bad timing.

ooohhh...now my interest is piqued. Must get it out of the library. I grew up in a town that had/has a Knights Templar castle, and loads of local folklore about the corruption and debauchery of the knights. There was a secret passage from the castle down to the river, I never went further than 10 feet into it from the river end, I believe it was blocked further in. The last book that kept me up all night was a Steven King book, think it was called Red Dragon, something like that. Scary!!! :^(

Red Dragon? Thomas Harris I think. Saw the movie (and Manhunter), but haven't read the book. Probably a lot scarier than the film. Stephen King is a great writer too. I hear they are making the Da Vinci Code as a movie. Tom Hanks I think and directed by Richie Cunningham.

Da Vinci code was great!! The Templar church in London is way cool but also way hard to find. I was wandering around looking for it off of Fleet and these two German couples walked up and asked if I knew where it was. I told them I was looking for it too and they laughed. I asked if they had read "the book" and the held up their map book...I said, "no,no,no..the Da Vinci Code" Then they really laughed, "Ah Yessss!" I have one or two bad pictures I took of the church I'll see if I can track down. The web site quest was a blast too... Angels and Demons is similar but you don't get to try to solve stuff the same way you do in Da Vinci Code...would be very cool to read if you'd ever been to Rome. His other two, Deception Point and Digital Fortress are almost a different genre because they don't deal with antiquities but they are both quick reads. Digital Fortress is good for math and computer people while Deception Point has some WAY cool technology in it.

The Rosslyn Church is at the end of the book and is in Scotland...I want to see that one too. The Templar church is the Round church mentioned mid book and is the one Phil posted. It is actually acclaimed as the spot where the great London fire ended...a little trivia for you. :)

He did produce Magyver for a while, but even that's getting on for 20 years old. Wasn't the Fonze in scream or one of those?

He'll always be Opie Taylor to me (Andy Griffith Show). :^) His daughter (Ron Howard's),Bryce Dallas Howard, was recently in an M. Night Shyamalan film (The Village). I understand the movie was so-so but she was really good in it.

Bryster funny you mentioned the Fonze(Henry Winkler), girlfriend and i sat and watch a movie with him in lastnight called Target for Rage where he was a cop. It also had Rick Schroder in it Playing the bad guy. The movie is actually based on a true story about a hostage situation some years ago.
