Subject: Sending out an S.O.S.!!!!!!!!

Recently, when I export out of Poser 4 as .obj, the exported obj. and its icon are Code Warrior text files. Some older obj.s that I have on my HD also get converted to Code Warrior text files. Does anyone know why this is happening? I have tried reinstalling Poser and performed a clean istall of my OS. I am running OS 9.2 on a Mac. Thank you in advance.

Answer No. 1: The Police - Zenyatta Mendata (?) Answer No. 2: Probably because CodeWarrior has set the filetype ".obj" (ya know - the intermediate compiler module) as its filetype. They're not "converted", just tagged for CodeWarrior. They're still Wavefront .obj files - you can see that by opening in a text editor (BBEditor, for instance). I'd ignore it unless it's causing some unavoidable issues.

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg off.

Thank you.I know I can still use the obj.s. It's just really annoying. I should mention I don't have CodeWarrior installed on my machine. I rebuilt my desktop and that seemed to do the trick. For now.....

All my Vue material files and 3DStudioMax material libraries are tagged as Bryce materials, because all 3 use the extension .mat and all my Visual C++ object files are tagged as wavefront obj's because both use the extension .obj...

The steps needed to correct the OS 9 filetype associations are somewhat tedious. Check the Mac forum for step-by-step details.
