1. I resolve to be more patient with render times that show double digit hours. 2. I resolve not to be fooled by postings whose titles include the words "screenshots" and/or "5.5", "6.0" or the name "Elizabeth Hurley". 3. I resolve to learn to paint waves. 4. I resolve to make it back to the Hot 20. 5. I resolve to learn to do landscapes in a "landscape" app...sheesh 6. I resolve to continue to learn as much as I can from all of you and shamelessly turn it to my own purposes. 7. I resolve to finish at LEAST one of the WIP's in the collection above.

Newpy Hap Year.

pogmahone ( ) posted Sat, 01 January 2005 at 3:01 AM

All those are WIPs? Wow, there are some fantastic ones in there. Some I've seen before, but I don't remember the smugglers (?) in the cave - that looks like it would be great - or that very dramatic bald guy throwing open the doors. Those are the two that have great impact to my eye, draw the attention immediately :^)

chohole ( ) posted Sat, 01 January 2005 at 3:05 AM

I agree with Pogmahone, it will be great to see some of those finished, especially no.6.

Come visit us at RenderGods.

My only resolution; loose 30 pounds,.......my stomach is getting so large that I have to sit further and further away from the computer,..........pretty soon I'll be in the next room !

ddaydreams ( ) posted Sat, 01 January 2005 at 11:55 AM

I hear ya sacrat. I've got about 30 extra lbs myself. That's why I'm getting a bigger monitor, so that as I move back away from it more I can still see what I'm doing. Seems easier than loseing 30 lbs. Either that or cut a me shaped hole into my desk front.LOL ;) As for New Year's Resolutions, I resolve not to make any resolutions. Ooooppps that's a resolution. So much for that.

Great. Now not only do I have to resurect all of my wips, but now I gotta lose weight, too!

ddaydreams ( ) posted Sat, 01 January 2005 at 12:32 PM · edited Sat, 01 January 2005 at 12:35 PM

Nukeboy you really don't have to loose weight unless you fail the following test. Take a belt known to fit you comfortably, hold the buckle or end to your forehead and stand up strait, if the bottom of the belt touches the floor you really should conceder loosing some weight. If not then No worries.
No standing on tip toes or tall shoes allowed.

Aieeee. Somebody even worse than I am in finishing pics. :-) But you really have some good ones there and it would be pity if you didn't finish them. Like that guy opening doors, or that guy in the vaulted corridor or the trumpeteers. Although, the guy opening the doors is almost complete, as far as I can see. My resolution: I'll immediately see what needs finishing and post pics like this in a separate thread. And then I'll finish them.

My resolutions:

  1. Think before posting comments

  2. Cut back on the coffee

  3. Keep my mouth shut and learn from those here who know what they're doing

  4. Keep an eye open for new posts by Claymor

My resolutions for 2005. 1 I won't sleep with Elizabeth Hurley. 2 I will eat at least 1 pound of chocolate. 3 I will break at least one set of headphones. 4. I will not become a millionare in the Renderosity marketplace. 5. I will offend at least one member in the forums. 6. I will give at least one set of wrong or incorrect advice about Bryce in the forums. 7. I will respond in at least one upcoming post about the pending release of Bryce 5.5, 6 etc. 8. I will be mistaken about the gender of a forum member. 9. I will continue to be ignored by beautiful women who will in turn favor vicious ignorant louts that beat them and are unfaithful. I will hear the phrase, "he needs me" and " I can change him" at least once. 10. I will get almost enough of a raise this year to offset my increased tax burden and the rise in fuel costs. At least I know I will keep them all;)

1: I will visit my friends in Puerto Rico. 2: I WILL get Candice Robertson to become my girlfriend, even if I have to somehow make this year last four times as long as planned. 3: I will not take my ex back, even if she appears at my front door. 4: I will get a hug from Ang. 5: I will no longer be lonely. 6: I will not need to buy a new vid-card or cpu to get my Mojoworld back to rendering without crashing, unlike people tell me. 7: I will start my own webdesign company. 8: I will get a job that pays an acceptable amount of money Bryster, maybe you should've added this resolution to your list: I will set my google preferences back to "strict filtering" I think the result might be a significantly shorter resolutions list for next year ;) grin Ardiva, how old/young are you? (oh and more importantly, are you a guy or a girl?) I might be able to help you remember ;) hehehe

I know nukeboy :) I'm learning those :) and so is my friend from the UK :) I can do some basic php stuff with databases now and I'm applying some xml in a recent webproject which will also be making extensive use of php and sql and flash (mostly actionscripting) :) I only wish they would've taught me something about security when I got php classes last year! they taught us how to make a simple webstore site (except for the part where you actually REALLY sell the stuff and money starts flowing, sadly) but they forgot to teach us how to make sure people can't rip creditcard numbers or passwords or any other content from the database LOL

I thought the whole idea of learning PHP (or PERL for us oldies) was to circumvent othre people's website security :). I've owned my own website design company for 6 years now, brings in a little beer money above and beyond the day job! New years resolutions - lose another 20 pound (lost 29 last year), take a holiday somewhere warm, try wakeboarding and kitesurfing! render more and better!
