What's up here? I just got this message for almost two hours this afternoon on trying to access this site... after the first time, I tried the shortcuts, accessing it from links from other pages - even entering in the url in the address box. All of them gave the same response. WTF, over? We get bought by Geocities, or did our router just hose up? [Yes, obviously I finally managed to get in, but it's still happening on occassion]

Sorry bud. Can't explain it. But I'm also out of email contact til at least tomorrow, so I might have more info waiting. Looks like either a router or DNS problem somewhere. Let ya know if I find out more.

Kewl. I polled a few members, informally... and I seem to have been the onlt one it got. Or at least the only one I talked to that it got. Wouldn't be the first time I've made a machine or a browser commit a unique or unreproduceable error - I'm good at that. :) Let me know if you figure anything out - that was definately wierd. I usually only get those in freestuff, on downloads posted to Geocities sites.

I got the same just now when I tried to download a motorcycle that someone put on the Poser free Stuff.

Anthony, the free stuff is not hosted on our server. The item you tried to download may not exist anymore. If so, we need to delete that item.

I've gotten those on freestuff downloads myself, this one was on trying to access the main site. Have to admit, I was endlessly amused to discover that we were now being hosted by a free web sever. Talk about cutting costs... :)

Hehe. Don't think we could find a free hosting company willing to take on the likes of Renderosity. I mean, 120,000 pages served a day, and 6.5 GB (yes GigaBytes) served a day. Would probably exceed their bandwidth limitations. :)

snicker 'Specially on GeoCities with its constant: "I'm sorry, we can't find your page with both hands, a flashlight, and two guys reading the road map" error messages. I'm still curious if you manage to find the source of that error, best I could figure is somehow a server link from somewhere got crossed in to things. That was wierd... that's the main reason I s-capped it, so I'd have proof I wasn't going completely nutzo.

I'll bug NegMan about it. The "viewed.ez" file is used to view gallery images. Ooooh ... I got it. You musta viewed an old image, back before we hosted them. That has now disappeared. Was once on Geocities. That's gotta be it. Well now, if they only showed the URL parameters, I could go nuke that image from the database.

NegentropicMan ( ) posted Wed, 27 December 2000 at 12:30 PM

I think rcook has it right. I found some dead links in the database that point to geocities. Guess we're going to have to do some clean up. I can say, in all certain terms that the site has been up through out the holly daze.

Ironbear ( ) posted Wed, 27 December 2000 at 6:45 PM

Hey! DON'T nuke that image, it was MINE! You're right... one of the last things I did before that cameup was view some gallery comments, and Wo;fsong put a comment on one of my older pics... that must've done it. Guess it got stuck in the GeoCities zone. And I'm not going to say which image. Nuke my image indeed! :)

Oh yeah, let's see: "delete from gallery where username='Ironbear';" There, that oughta do it. :)
