Blender F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 24 8:44 pm)
better post those steps here so otherscan benefit too. i thought Tuhopuu was an extended, more experimental version of blender not just a diffrent gui??
for
some free stuff i made
and
for almost daily fotos
This issue is now solved. Not fixed but solved.
As for Tuhopuu:
youre correct. However if Im reading the documentation correctly all the previous features of BF Blender for Windows have now been merged with Tuhopuu and the new GUI will be a glimpse into the next release.
As for the steps.
Case 1. This is just a matter of deleteing all the blender folders on your drive.
Case 2 & 3: This is done with in Blender.
At the top of the blender window click and drag down the Header border. You will reveal hidden controls.
Click the button called Themes.
In the drop down youll have the options of the default theme and the rounded theme. (The new GUI stuff is part of the Default theme)
Below the drop down you can click the button marked NEW and make a new theme all your own by picking Items from the top dropdown to the right of New Button and then selecting preset styles from the dropdown immediately below the Items.
Once youve made your changes drag the Header Border back up into position (itll stop when its reached its proper place), double check your display to make sure everything is as you want it and then hit Ctrl + U and then ENTER to save your settings.
NOTE: I say double check because the CTRL+U hot key saves EVERYTHING about the GUI. Later if you decide you want buttons to be vertical along one side of your interface you can move them to position and then hit CTRL+U, ENTER and save THAT change as well.
PS: The issue was caused by security settings on WinXP. I didnt have OGL functions under my user profile. Sucks but I dont feel like getting bitched at by my IT depatment in order to get it fixed.

Final Update on this:Apparently it was a small issue with the download itself and not my security settigns. I redownloaded form a different link and now it works perfectly.
The link I downloaded from is attached here.
Geez and I wore my hip high BS boots today thinking I was gonna have to wade through a serious pile of crap to get my IT people to fix this. LOL

Well, apparently theres a new GUI for this version of Blender. However when I download from the link Ive posted here and run Blender nothing seems to have changed.
I have in the course of trying to make this work:
So.
Im left to believe that this is a compile issue.
Ive never compiled Blender and have no idea how to start. If there are any other Windows XP users out there whod be willing to either PM me the info or email privately the steps needed to get the source files and what Ill need to compile them, I would be extremely appreciative.
Thanks.
