Dear DAZ, When are you going to fix the awful shoulder/upper arm as well as the 'bent-straw' inner elbow on the unimesh so it can actually be useful? ::::: Opera :::::

Oh geesh

...kinda like giving away a bicycle frame hoping you'll buy wheels, a seat, handlebars, frame, chain ... hmm... then, of course, you'll need a little horn and tastles for the handlebars. Oh. And don't forget paint and a speedometer and ... :)

xantor ( ) posted Thu, 06 January 2005 at 4:32 PM

Complaining for no reason was also argued about already.

Jackson ( ) posted Thu, 06 January 2005 at 5:53 PM

Seems DAZ can't win do matter what they do. If they were handing out ten-dollar bills, some people would complain they weren't twenties.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm gonna eagerly enjoy the moment, and look forward to hearing more from DAZ.

I just downloaded my M3 & V3. Didn't even have to put in a credit card number or anything about paypal. V3 was on page one of women at the bottom of the page. M3 was the first one on page 2 of men. I'm not complaining about what is or what is not included. I've been wanting them for a long time, but my husband still won't give me my credit card back. I wonder why?

operaguy ( ) posted Fri, 07 January 2005 at 12:15 AM

xantor, your point is respectfully taken--and rejected. There IS a reason. But obviously my argument has had no effect in any way whatsoever and I am simply observing the spectacle with bemused amazement and making cranky statements once in a while in the capacity of the 'honourable opposition." You notice I am being polite...I am not posting references to my intense threads on this subject. ::::: Opera :::::

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Fri, 07 January 2005 at 12:45 AM

I second opera's observation about the shoulders... People were complaining about them when they actually had to pay for the figures...

operaguy ( ) posted Fri, 07 January 2005 at 1:07 AM

The evolution in power of these incredible photo-realistic textures, hair and clothing...more and more you can bring a character to life. It's fantastic. Vicki's underlying shape is not keeping pace. I realize that if Daz were to change the unimesh, it would cause immense grief for the conforming cloths, the body textures, etc. But people should have their eyes open, that's all. Or their magnets ready! ::::: Opera :::::

And Fixing poorly contructed meshes with magnets
or "in post" is not really viable for us animators.

however having said that I ,
for one think this a good move by DAZ

Operaguy It wasn`t your complaint about the shoulders and the elbow that I was arguing about, it was people complaining about these figures being free.

operaguy ( ) posted Fri, 07 January 2005 at 12:03 PM

oh. then "never mind!" who, and WHY, are they complaining about them being free. If you bought them you get a coupon...so what's up with them? By the way everyone or anyone, do any of you use the "Millenium Deformers" to fix the shoulders? My big question is....once you use magnets or this Deformer and get a pose lookin good, do the deformations 'stick' in the sense...if you animate, does the 'fix' show up in every frame? ::::: Opera :::::

Bobbie_Boucher ( ) posted Fri, 07 January 2005 at 12:27 PM

So why not bring your complaints into a different thread? this is about FREE Michael 3.0 and Vicky 3.0.
