Subject: male genitals on V3?

pjbear ( ) posted Sun, 21 November 2004 at 12:37 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 6:48 AM

I bought V3MTP over a year ago from Renderosity to make V3 into an anatomically correct male (along with DAZ morphs) and only now have gotten around to trying to use it. The instructions are not included, and the dalinise website mentioned is now closed. Making the textures work looks easy enough, but there are some steps needed to get genitals on V3. Can anyone help me? Does anyone know how to make the total package work?

Just add Mike's "package" to the scene and then conform it to Vicki 3 morphed into a male and then apply your textures. (Of course the map might not work if it wasn't created using the base mil. figures. In that case, you would have to use what ever figures the maps were created for.

Conforming may not work. I have the RDNA Adrian set for V3 male and you have to parent, not conform, the "package" to Vicky's hip. Try doing that & see how it works. You'll probably need to do some postwork as there's usually a seam visible where the body & prop textures (they're different) meet.

I should have said Mike 3 in my post above. And I'm sure I just conformed it to the figure. But I'll try it again. I was surprised that it worked when I just stumpled across it. But I guess it's because the mil. figures all start out as the same base.

I e-mailed dalinese and got a quick reply with a tutorial. It is very easy. Basically just load v3 srI and click on the morphs in the new package in the pose file. That gives the male body and texture. Then load M2 on top of v3 and click on the genital item in the same pose file. That transfers the genitals to v3 and removes the rest of M2. Then move the genitals slightly and parent to v3 hip. Looks good.

Thanks for the other suggestions.

  1. Load V3 and add morphs - do not morph. 2. Load M2 and PARENT his hip to her hip. 3. Apply textures to both figures. 4. Make sure the genitalia option is on. 5. Set all other parts of M2 as invisible. I did this for one of my images... Look at "Uncensored" in my gallery.

::bangs head on keyboard:: I never thought of that! So will it morph and pose the same?

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Sun, 21 November 2004 at 10:44 PM

The genitalia will move along with V3's hip, but to morph you will have to use the morphing and scaling on M2's genitalia's in order to make adjustments.

Thanks, must try it.

BTW, you can do the same type of thing to put M2's head on M3's body or vice versa...

I got curious and looked in the hierarchy editor. M2 is there except everything has been made transparent except for the gentials by using dalinise's system. Easy to apply, though, and works fine with her texture. The fact that both figures are there may be good to know if problems pop up down the road, but I don't know what they might be. I wonder if the computer works much harder to process all the extra invisible information,or if it is blind to it. And would it be enough work to make any difference? Anyway, interesting.

Maybe I finally can give this guy something to brag about! (yeah, that's the V3 male dude...) /P

Well, now I am having some problems. I save new (composite) figure (V3 with M2 genitals and invisible M2 body) and when I try loading it again from the library I get missing body parts. So I guess I have run into some sort of crosstalk problems. Maybe it would be better if the second M2 figure were not there. I'll have to work on this when I have time. Any suggestions?

...Hrm. You get hold of Ulf's little prop and try that yet? (dunno if it's even out and about anymore, but it was damned useful...) /P

This might help: Something I did for Vicky 2 long time ago. "Putting Michael's Genitalia onto Vicky2 with working MTs_A Tutorial. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=567839

I have done my darn best to make realistic genitalia for V3 and M3.  Check out my website for availability of such items.
Thank you, marty

I use the Don genitals. Set them up to suit the final pose, and then export as a .obj. Do not export as a morph target. Then import, position and parent on the figure, and save as a prop. Free with Poser 5, and good enough for a lot of work.
