Subject: Need help on how to distribute morphs and new joint settings.

I tried to model a couple of boots to TheGirl but when modeled in the ordinary feet position and then bent when posed for a high heel (which rather is the normal position for the boot) there is to much distortion on hooks and strings. So insted I have decided to go for the alternative solution to model the boot in the way it normally should be posed and then rather make morphs (and new joint settings) for the feets and toes so that they will fit into it. The plus for this solution is that most existing poses will work as they are and I will get less distortion. Now, this means that I have to distribute the morphs as well as the new modified joint settings. If I open the original TheGirl cr2 ,add the morphs and adjust the joints and then save it, can this cr2 then be distributed or does it contain copyrighted stuff etc.? And if an injection file is a better solution then how is such a file created?

Firstly You cannot re-distribute the CR2 file as it is the copyright of DAZ. You will need to create an Injection pose for The Girl and distribute your morph seperately. See the DAZ website for info on "Injection Pose Builder".

Well I did suspect that..
So is an injection file capable of transfering joint settings? And by the way, is not INJection Posebuilder limited to certain models?

Well, call me stupid if you like ;)
I have actually bought both INJection Posebuilder v1 and Injection Magic v1.

I remember giving up an Injection magic before but this time I did manage to figure it out, at least to the point where i did get an injection to work.

Will have to do some more testing.

Here is an idea from left field....if you can't see the feet or toes inside the boots, instead of morphing them, why not simply hide them ???? Of course, if you can actually see the feet and toes, then you are back to the morphs. --Rebekah--

You can inject new joint parameters, incidently, I've done that, for other figures. I set it up with 2 other poses to inject / remove the morphs, the JP setting one than also turned the morph on, the undoer version of it turned it off and restored the stock settings. I made these poses manually, I doubt it IPB will make them, too non-standard. ;-) I don't think the GIRLs CR2 is non-restributibale, BTW, I know I used it in the clohing I made for her, but the Injector Poses are a better way to do it.

Rebekah: The boots are supposed to be conforming. Will it still work, if I hide the foot and toe? I tried that once but then I could not pose the foot (when I think of it know I probably only tried to manipulate it using the mouse pointer and as the geometry not is visible I could not select it, I dont think I did try to select the foot in the item list), will give it another try. As I suppose that I want the injection to transfer as little info as possible from my modified cr2 does anyone know witch of the Injection Magic options that should be checked when I parse my file. The 'Morph' one is obvious but with one of the rest should be selected in order to get the new joint settings. is it 'Pose' or maybe 'Translation' or is it some of the others?

Pose The Girl. Conform the boots. Hide the toes. You can hide the toes either in the hierarchy window or by selecting the body part, keying CTRL-I and unticking 'visible'. And it won't effect the conforming either way, you aren't deleting the bones or anything, merely hiding the geometry from view. --Rebekah--
