Subject: What's a Brolly?

I bought Moochie's wonderful Michael 3 Morning Poses, and just love them. I have one question: what is a brolly? There are 3 brolly poses. Is that another word for Umbrella? I'm from the US, so I never heard such a word.

Yes, brolly is another word for umbrella. )

That pose looks like he is trying to open up the brolly.

With a bowler and a brolly. You see them daily on the tube near Bank.

I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

OK, thanks. This pose set is neat, since it pretty much covers what Mike 3 might do in the morning. This includes getting out of bed, eating breakfast, taking a shower, brushing teeth, shaving, preening in front of the mirror, walking, and yes, handling an umbrella.

This pose looks more like he's trying to... OH! Nevermind! ; )

LOL @ LaVonne... I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw it from a strange perspective. Perhaps... he has a brolly in his trollies (slang for undies) LOL

It's been raining here in Southern California for ten days. No brolly left. We have bumbershoots, however. ::::: Opera :::::

Is there are set of comparible poses for v3? I hate pinup poses. I would love more day-to-day type poses.

Schlabber has created a lot of everyday poses. Off the top of my head, I can't remember if they're free or to buy, though. Also, if you have P5, you can try the supplied poses for Don and Judy. Most of them will work with minimal adjustment. It's usually the hands which screw up the most but if you have some handy (ha ha) hand poses you can always correct those after.

I got another fine collection of everyday poses with an interesting name: M3 Pick, Scratch, Itch Poses by Predatron. These two collections of poses have more "everyday" stuff than I've seen in the past few years.

Petunia: "Is there are set of comparible poses for v3?" Well, most M3 poses can be fairly easily tweaked for V3. This is V3, sans brolly, using one of M3's poses. I only had to unbend her arms slightly. Yay!

Hey moochie, this will sound sorta weird, but bear with me. Your "wee" pose (Yes, Mike is doing that) actually has his hand a bit higher than his, uhm, you know. I tried fiddling with the pose, but things just got a bit weird. Do you have any tips on how to line up his hand with his penis?

R_Hatch ( ) posted Wed, 12 January 2005 at 2:04 AM

Turn on IK for the hand in question and then yTran it to where you want. Or bend his wee up a bit and move him further from the toilet ;-p

Aha! I've finally put Mike 3 into an apartment so I can start using this wonderful set of poses.

moochie ( ) posted Wed, 12 January 2005 at 2:46 AM

Haha. Yes, that would do it, R_Hatch. Bobbie .. I created the poses whilst I was beta testing M3 for Daz, and before the 'fully equipped' version was released. So I just kinda guessed. You may be surprised to learn that I passed my Biology 'O' level and have fathered two children. Or maybe that's just down to the law of averages?

Bobbie_Boucher ( ) posted Wed, 12 January 2005 at 12:30 PM

Thanks for the explanation, and congrats. The "generation 3" figures are rather unique, since they can function without their "equipment."

Yup. But Mike can't really function properly in the activity discussed without said equipment. So here, for anyone who wants it, is a properly lined-up pose. Cheers, mooch

This has to be the first in Poser history: a Michael Peeing Pose. Now let's see if I have the guts to use it in a render.

slinger ( ) posted Wed, 12 January 2005 at 7:07 PM

Here's a sorta "zen" thought... If a figure with no "equipment" attached pees, does the runtime folder containing it still get wet? Hey, it's late OK? ;)

The liver is evil - It must be punished.

moochie ( ) posted Wed, 12 January 2005 at 8:02 PM

I was one-hand clapping. At least, that's what I told the Magistrate. Still got fined though. 6 months Community Service, wandering through the forest listening for falling trees. It's not as easy as it sounds. slinger .. I think if there's no equipment attached, and the proposed activity is enacted, I suspect EVERYTHING within several feet will get wet.
