Subject: Adjusting the camera...

I am trying to figure out how to precisely adjust the camera(s) in Poser 5. My previous experience is in using 3ds Max where I am able to move the camera, and the point that the camera aims at just like any other object. Is there anyway I can do anything such as numerically edit the position of the camera and direction it is pointing? And is it possible to create additional cameras or am I stuck with the ones that are already there?

Zoom out the Scene until you see the Lights and the Camera as in normal Progs. You can drag them and rotate as you like. If there a numerical option-i dont know.

to make a camera always point at something.

be sure the camera is the selected object.
Ojbect menu ---> point at
You will get the heirarchy list.
Scroll to the item you want as the target.
Click on OK

Note that in the camera controls editor there is a small key. If this is gray, your camera will animate, that is, as the animation proceedes the camera will move, point, change focal lenght, ect. according to keyframes. If it is RED, it will not move. I'm not sure how the "point at" trick interacts with the animate/don't animate. You'll have to experiment.

You can "spin dials" to move/point the camera or change the values by clicking on them and typing the number desired., no problem.

Poser 5, you have two little drop-down menues under the document window, left-most for the figure, and various options -- body, parts, props, lights, and cameras to the right. If you double-click on an object in the scene, a window pops up, where you can dial-in morphs for figures. This has essentially the same two menues at the top, Select the camera with the menues, and you get a whole list of dials, including lens focal length (assuming a 35mm camera), the Dolly settings (position), and which way the camera is pointing. There's other ways of getting to this point, including the Window menu on the main menubar. There are several cameras which can be set for general use, as well as ones specifically to help detail work -- hand and face cameras -- but they all seem usable for stills. Be careful not to start using a hand camera as if it were the Main camera, as its positioning is relative to a hand, not the scene as a whole. It's easy to forget.

Thank you very much everyone for all your help, I think I have figured out how to do what I want now. Knowing how to bring up the parameter dials for the camera and adjust those solves my problem. Thanks ;-)
