If I'm not mistaken, Content "Paradise" never existed, and never will. A feature promised but not fulfilled.

No it was there for a while, but I think it's gone now. An experiment that didn't work out.

Content Paradise used to exist. Most of the stuff there was stuff that's here in the Rosity MP.

The Web site is still up, but has a "closed for major renovation" sign up. I don't think they've given up. The CL site is advertising a CD full of Shade models that will be for sale soon, so they are still planning to sell content.

Content Paradise was originally designed as a shopping method for users of Poser. They could click the tab, browse for items, purchase them, then the items would be automatically downloaded and extracted to the P5RuntimeDownloads folder. Only a few sites were involved with CP- Renderosity, RuntimeDNA, TurboSquid, and maybe a few more. But, not all items were available in CP- only merchants who agreed to be listed in CP were shown. And I don't think you could purchase DAZ products through CP (though I could be wrong about this). But, users soon found that it was easier just to go to the Poser sites themselves, click the Marketplace link, download the item, and manually extract the items wherever they like. And I wonder how much business CP really did... especially after people posted tutorials on how to remove the Content Paradise tab from P5 (to gain back extra screen space). --John

"And I wonder how much business CP really did... especially after people posted tutorials on how to remove the Content Paradise tab from P5 (to gain back extra screen space)." ...considering the howl and rage from anybody who wasn't Renderosity Store Staff when the whole CP idea first came out? I think it got strangled in its crib. I recall that it was working for the first couple months or so after P5 launched, but I suspect that it died off awful fast. /P

I've never heard anyone admit that they used Content Paradise.

But -- as they say, Paradise can't be found in this world........

It lingered for quite awhile. I was a late adopter of P5. (It was actually stable by the time I started using it. ;-) And CP was still working. They were even adding items. Much later than they appeared at Rosity, but they were adding items.

I never actually bought anything, but I put some stuff in my cart, to see how the site worked, and it appeared to be functioning.

I browsed CP once when I first got P5, I then promply removed it from the program. I found more convenient just to browse manually. Plus my poser loaded just under twice as fast.

I used to browse teh CP all the time, saved on leaving poser to see what was here.

Here's a thread about getting rid of the Content Paradise. Speeds up P5's load time.

Link to tutorial about eliminating the CP (this Poserpros link is also found in the RR thread above):

Since it imposed a sizable lag in P5's load time it aquired the tag of 'content parisite'

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.
