Wish everybody a happy and prosperous New Year. Totally trashed my computer between Xmas and New Year and have just got it back from having a total upgrade, new motherboard, HD,graphics card,RAM and all in a new case with front USB. Just under a $1000.00 so it looks like I'm going to have to forget any Bryce upgrade, probably until version 6 or 7. Cheers 8) GG.

:-) Just got it back. Funny. Sounds like everything was replaced. It's like Washingtons hatchet. The blade and the handle have been replaced, but it occupies the same space.

Don't remember where I heard it, but it's apocryphal at best. But serves a purpose. There's a similar expression that Brits may know. Trigger's Broom. "I've had the same broom for 20 years, I've just replaced the handle 4 times and the head 6 times."

Then the question is, when does it stop being the original and start being a new one. And another thought for the future: Do people have brain transplants, or would it be a body transplant?

Phil: It would be a brain transplant - eg: I'm having my brain transplanted into another body?

See, I wonder about that. I'm having a body transplanted around my brain. The brain is what makes you you. You go to sleep and they transplant someones heart, you had a new heart. Same with arms, legs, lungs, kindeys, eyes. Everthing is given to you. If they replaced your skin and bones and organs, then you wake up with a new body. Not the body waking up with a new brain. Just a matter of viewpoint I guess.

How about this. If you and I had our brains swapped over, we'd wake up with new (although slighty used) bodies, we wouldn't wake up and think we've got new brains.

Agreed! And if you ever decide to go ahead with it count me in. My body's f**king knackered mate and I've been looking for a new one for years.............LOL mind you, my brain hasn't been much to shout about either....
