I work, just like many other people do who visit the forum. I really never come here (to this forum) to buy anything, I come just to see what's new and what's going on. I really don't see the harm that someone posts a new product here, as it is "related" to poser and maybe "WE" are interested. I don't have the time on many occations to check the "product page" and the "heads up here" is really appreciated by me. In fact, I may have missed it, if it was posted just on the Product page. Like I said, I know you have your "RULES" but what harm could it do, if you just "Locked" the thread and not move it somewhere else?

Hi Genny, If I was to lock the thread, then those interested wouldn't be able to post questions or requests in it to Lyne, and Lyne wouldn't be able to answer those comments. That is why we move the threads and provide a link so that you can follow them in the Showcase :-)

Ginny if we let one we have to let all post here and we have a forum for new Products it is the Product Showcase. This forum is for Poser related problems and questions and if we were to let the product's be listed here it would take away from what this forum was created for. We do let free items be posted here but not ones for sale. I hope this explains it a little better on why we don't allow them in this forum. :O) SndCastie

There is no consistiency across the forums when posts about saleable items are made by those seeking free advertising space. Other Renderosity forums allow such posts while this one (rightly) does not. Leaving a link to the new thread is still wrongly allowing product adverts to be posted here!

Allowing commercial posts in some of the other forums generally works ok, since they are few and far between usually. If product announcements were allowed in here, it would become completely useless for people wanting to actually discuss Poser or ask/answer questions on its use. Just look at the freestuff, and how certain members choose to use it as a billboard for their commercial items. Instead of one general "add-ons for my MP product" thumbnail, it's page after page of junk which can only be used with a certain MP product.
