If you can do explosions for Vue, as animated planes, I will buy them. I promise. I have invented my own process for AVI's in Vue, but it involves mapping and texturing a few hundred squares in Poser, animating them in Poser to replace each other, and then importing into VUe. Much more long winded than your process sounds.

No rush. I won't be needing them for about three or four months. And I work in video for TV, so whatever you think the market demands will be cool. And a tutorial will be cool too, hint hint, because I have a few other ideas as well, and I am too lazy to figure it all out myself, lol.

Atually I find it rather patetic that movie files .avi .mpg etc not is supported. If there at least were support for Image sequences(I made a try using Phython but I found the Phyton support to be more or less a joke). I really hope this is taken care of in Vue 5 Infinite but if you know a way of doing it I would for sure like to see a tutorial.

I haven't had much time to post here in recent times but decided to look tonite and found a lot of posts saying that using movies as textures wasn't possible ,Sorry but its been possible since v3 (maybe earlier versions aswell but i wouldn't know) ,I could probably knock up a quick tutorial but it really isn't needed ,Its a very longwinded process but i have been using bitmap sequences on huge screens in my cityscapes for a long time in Vue and also this can be done with an alpha channel ,I used the alpha channel technique to load in particle explosions and so on from particle Illusion and even used the glowing materials in Vue so that the explosion gave surrounding objects light as it played thru ,Its a simple task of loading a texture frame creating a key moving the timeline a frame and loading the next frame of your movie onto the surface as a texture do this for each frame (i said it was long winded) and viola movies on screens and fully lit and animated particle fx (dont forget if your doing the alpha channel one that you will need to change the transparency each frame aswell) Hope this helps people and really i should have posted a tutorial on this somewhere a long time ago :) (too busy making our film :)) ) Lastly i haven't got 5 yet so if someone could test this technique to see if it works in 5 that would be cool 'On the subject of 5 anybody out there bought my Boo Vue addons mats and atmos and such ,I was just wondering if they worked in 5 (Just got a message asking me :) ) Bungle
