Hi Everyone, I did a render this afternoon in Poser 5 and noticed that the shadows weren't coming out right. The image is of V3 with her hand on her thigh. The shadows show up find on the shadow side of her fingers, but the fingers don't make a shadow on her thigh. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I'm using the FireFly Renderer, and I have all of the options selected including "Cast Shadows". The necessary lights have "Shadows" selected. What else do I need to do to make the fingers cast shadows on the thigh?

Thanks,
Josh

what is the size of the shadow map on the light? Set it to something very high like 1000 to test. ::::: Opera :::::

Zoom in on the shadowcam.

try setting it to raytrace shadows. this will give you a definitive line of where the shadow would lie, then increase your shadow map size accordingly to see the shadows. I have noticed that sometimes it misses part of the shadow for no known reason. don't forget to turn ray-tracing on in the render options!

Thanks everyone for the tips. When I switch to raytrace shadows they show up nicely. I don't see the setting for the shadow map size. Where is it? Thanks, Josh

it's the second dial down of the parameter dials for any light, right above the colors (red, green, blue) and it is called "map size." ::::: Opera :::::

"I have noticed that sometimes it misses part of the shadow for no known reason." The reason maybe the settings of the shadow cam for the shadow casting light. Take a look thru it... Anything that's not within the view of the shadow cam won't cast shadows.
