Subject: V3 Morph Fitting Magnets for Clothing - Any Interest?

Lyrra ( ) posted Fri, 21 January 2005 at 5:05 AM ยท edited Fri, 31 January 2025 at 3:49 AM

Heyas Just finishing up a fairly comprehensive set of magnets to fit v3's clothes to her various stock bodymorphs. They're not perfect, I didnt do all of them, and of course each clothing item needs to be tinkered with for them to fit perfectly. I mentioned this in chat and got several people asking for copies .. um .. I actually didn't think anyone would want them since I know not many people use magnets in Poser. So .. if I put these up for sale would anyone buy them? I just dont want users complaining because they dont fit perfectly first shot ... every model is different and theres no way to account for that much variation. They're certainly not meant for your average user, or anyone uncertain with magnets or spawning morphs in poser. I made them to add morphs to PW clothing.. but they would definately be a good developers resource for those with the patience. I've tried them on a variety of items, and had them work fairly well with minimum tinkering even on stuff like tight clothing and dangly bits. Long skirts take a little messing about and re-applying magnets, but you can get there. Seeing one of the bodyharnesses on v3Heavy is um .. something memorable :) list: ArmsHeavy, ArmsPetite, Barbarian1, Barbarian2, Emaciated, Faerie, Heavy, PearFigure, Pinup, Pregnant, Rubenesque, Skinny, Buxom, Voluptuous, Young, neck bulge, calves bulge, calves heavy, hip narrow, hip small, gluteus large, gluteus small, chest wide, antiCleavage, skirthang, Muscle1, muscle 2, tone, BreastDroop, BreastMale, BreastSize1, BreastSize2, BreastSize3, BreastSize5, BreastSize6, BreastSize7, BreastSize8, BrstDiameter, BrstNatural, THighFull, ThighWide, tummyout (yes I messed up saving breastsize4 and see no need to make it seperately.. again) um .. I think thats it for the moment... I've been requested to add the male morphs, and male expansion and I'm nearly done with a SheFreak fitting magnet set as well, but the arms are being tricky. eventually I'll make more sets for more figures... I've started the V2 morph set as well but I dont think anyone outside of Poserworld is making V2 stuff these days anyways. So .. would you buy it? if so, what would you consider a fair price? I'd be quite interested in a set for She-Freak. That poor girl's wardrobe is rather lacking ...

I'd be interested in a set for She-Freak as well! lol Almo's mannequins and the Tailor don't quite cut it when converting V3 clothing....I've been using magnets to fix whatever the Tailor misses but I had never thought about putting together a comprehensive set of 'fitting room' magnets. Great idea Lyrra!

I think I'd have to say I'd consider it - but the price point should be low, say under $10 for me to buy it.

I would be very interested. I've been fitting clothes to toher figures recently and a set of magnets would be very usefull. Price would be an important consideration for me though. Anything over $10 and I would have to budget for it. Under $10 and I would snap them up in a heart beat.

I would be interested.

I'd be interested in the V3 one, especially with the male morph. I'd also be interested in one for Aiko 3.

onimusha ( ) posted Fri, 21 January 2005 at 7:57 PM

I'd be interested. It would be great if you focused on giving them an intuitive user interface. I've used magnets a lot, and some of the sets I've bought have been very confusing, even though I know how to use magnets.

curtskinn ( ) posted Fri, 21 January 2005 at 8:08 PM

yes

Dave71 ( ) posted Sat, 22 January 2005 at 3:03 PM

Yes I would be very interetsed, depending on the amount of additional tweaking.

Oh, yeah, I would be interested too.

I typed out this whole long thing and it got eaten. Bloody machine. three previews - morphed v3 with regular clothes, clothes with stock magnets, adjusted version PWwaitress: pear, 6 mags adjusted, 5 min Kyal Thua suit - fairy, 3 mags adjusted, 1 minute TheDress - SheFreak, 8 mags adjusted (most adding to Hip of dress), 15 min as you can see the she freak mags are NOT finished. Shes a tough lady to put clothes on. Intuitive interface? nah ..these are plain vanilla prop magnets .. load em on and use like normal. so what do you think? 10$ reasonable for the amount of work left up to the user? that is IF it could get through testing here.

MarianneR ( ) posted Sun, 23 January 2005 at 4:26 AM

Yes, 10$ is reasonable, I think. Why should the testers have any objections? If the promo tells the whole story about what the product is and advises the magnet-challenged to stay away, wouldn't that be ok?

onimusha ( ) posted Sun, 23 January 2005 at 7:56 AM ยท edited Sun, 23 January 2005 at 7:59 AM

I would pay $10 for it. What I meant by intuitive interface was that the magnets and the dials should have clear, distinct labels that aren't easy to confuse. Wyrmmaster's magnet dials, for example, all have labels that are very similar to each other and are easy to mix up.

Yeah, I'd pay $10.

ynsaen ( ) posted Sun, 23 January 2005 at 8:36 AM

Not only would I pay 10 bucks for it, I just now set it aside so that I can, lol

thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)

Heck, I'd pay more. This is a cool development tool. Hey, this could be a new line for you (in your copious spare time); magnet sets to match the FBMs and stock morphs of mil figures.
