Yes I have, did see the prize, heard about the surprising lack of morphs and the diminishing comments the author made about other content creators and left very quickly again.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Well, I've seen some really cool monsters over at Sixus1(Mothman,Phibian,Flayer, Gug just to name a few)that look just as good, without that hefty price tag. For something that impractical, I can't see paying that. For what, and how often would you use it. I've only seen one pic of "Scythe" in the galleries.

Hmmm...that's interesting.. the last time I checked Scythe was in over 20 pics not including Daz's monthly gallery... Havoc has the morphs that it needs. When you'll check the facial design, it has bone growth right under the skin surface that doesn't leave much room for facial muscles kind of like turtles or crocodile.

I saw a lot of Scythe images in the galleries. Sanctum Arts does make nice looking critters. As with anything for sale in poserland you do have to justify your uses versus price tag. Sometimes SA's stuff isn't cost effective for me. Doesn't mean it's not worth it though. The dig on other merchants in the add copy wasn't the best idea. The customer base here is pretty darn fickle and often takes offense when one of their fav's is insulted even in an offhanded way. As Smoovie said Sixus1 has put out models just as nice at a third of the cost. Doesn't mean he's better than SA, but doesn't mean his stuff is substandard either.

Maybe in a few months, but right now its a bit too expensive for me.

This isn't the type of character that particularly interests me. I enjoy fantasy -- but no matter how well that they are done, "lizard-man" monsters just don't fit my taste. Certainly not at a high price. However, I would be unlikely to purchase this model even if it sold for $5.00. Sure, it's a great-looking piece, but it's not for me. Others can buy it, and love it. He'd make a nice teddy bear to sleep with.

Well for me its all in the textures!! I have RDL7 and NO one can touch the detail in those Sci fi set peices....NO ONE!!! and this new creature has great textures especially when rendered in Cinema4DXL. ( yes I have stonemasons Level 19 as well) And I think people need to grow up and realize that the poser content market is very competitive and not all hugs and kisses. ;-) Sanctumart does NOT mention any other merchants by name its just the same old " 25%better than the leading manufactuers" mantra that you see in TV ads every day.

He didn't mention any merchant by name, but it's just the way he said it, that wasn't the same old "25%better than the leading manufactuers" mantra that you see in TV ads every day. It sounded vey nasty and proud.... "And I think people need to grow up and realize that the poser content market is very competitive and not all hugs and kisses. ;-)" You've stated it perfectly well, in a competitive market one should have competitive prices too! I do realize that as long as people pay the price for these models, one can ask such prices, but don't start about competitive.... That would be the same as 'every is charging $10, and because we want to be competitive we'll charge you $40' Again the quality of all of the SanctumArt looks great, but as long as I can get satisfactory similair items elsewhere for a fraction of SanctumArt's price, I would be thief of my own wallet (as we say in my country) if I would by SanctumArt stuff.

I'm with you Wolf SA I love your stuff it falls right within my genre of art and your attention to detail is GREAT dare I say unmatched I am in no way connected with SA other then being a satisfied customer

You might as well PAY attention, because you can't afford FREE speech

Puntomaus ( ) posted Sat, 29 January 2005 at 7:07 AM

IMHO the price for the Scythe model or the Havoc isn't too high. You get very high quality models that look extremely good. I know that there are other models around for less but they don't appeal to me because of their style and look.

wolf359: great pose and render! I love SA stuff; have his "Legion" suit for M2 - very high quality! Will put this (not so little) beastie in my cart. I didn't find his "marketing hype" offensive at all; I think it exudes his confidence in the detail and quality he has put into his own products, i.e. it was not meant to "put down" any particular vendor. Let those who are "stung by the challenge" prove him wrong and make something equivalent or even better! ;-p

Yeah, I have to go with the confidence idea, rather than deliberately putting down other vendors. I also have his Legion and Solo suits - gorgeous! His beasties are a bit too dear on my wallet just this moment, but the next time I've got some extra cash to drop on Poser they're mine!
