What occurs to me is that people (i will not give names) here delete pictures and repost them at a later date. Now that might have a very good reason, he/she might not be satisfied with the result, and improved it, changed it and repost that new work. Very clear i guess, especially if the maker indicates that it is an improvement on a previous work. But this also happens to pictures that haven't changed a single bit. Now one can only wonder why people want to do that?

Quite true, I've done both. Revamp of older works because my Bryce and postwork capabilities have improved. I've even reposted stuff that I previously deleted in a pissy mood, didn't think it stood up to my present skill level and then thought "oh, what the hell". Many, many reasons, I can't say with others, but I'm sure within their personal lives, they have lots of reasons I haven't thought of (yet). Now one can only wonder why people want to do that? Agreed, I still wonder why I do sometimes, but I'll bet it has something to do with emotions. As we all know, us artists are a very emotional lot, and weirder stuff happens here all the time. O-Well, it's still the best all around venue I've seen so far. ICM

Some possible reasons: 1. Someone posted a very nasty, trollish comment on their image. Faster (maybe even easier) than getting a Mod or Admin to fix the problem for them. 2. They get little or no response. As an experiment, they repost it later to see if the posting day or time was a factor. 3. Maybe they made a small change that is not at once obvious to the viewer. (Forgot the signature, wrong year, wanted to change the eye color, different thumbnail).

True that is very strange. i have noticed some will delete an image so they can re-work it then post it again. I on the other hand have deleted all of my images, i do this when i get so many there. I will never re-post them because i'm on the believe that once they have been posted and looked at why keep them there taking up server space. That's just me, some may think it is silly to do this but hey they are my images to do with what i please :p

I think CD has a point. The user can do whatever they want. No way around people reposting. I don't mind it so much. If I see the same image and I commented on the original, I won't bother commenting on the second. It does clutter up the gallery, but yeah, it's their gallery. I'm really thinking I need to clean up my gallery. But I DO like having them all in one place to show the improvement (if any). I do plan on updating my own web page gallery, so may tidy up my rosity gallery then. With that in mind, does anyone know of any software that creates a gallery that is easy to update? I've used photoshop before, but you have to practically re do it each time you add an image. I also have picasa, which came with the PC, but same problem. There has to be a freewar bit of kit that easily creates galleries that you can tweak to your own colour and style.

I have studiously been reposting my older images, as my previous incarnation no longer exists. I remember the comments and the way people made me feel from before, and take no offense at all if people who've seen my pics don't feel like commenting again. It's strictly for my personal pleasure and use. Never feel obligated to comment. Only comment if you are driven to! Drawbridgep, I love your gallery site... Quick, clean, and full of awesome stuff!

I'm filing away pics, and yeah..I see that a lot. Sometimes it's just a different angle, color, some minor thing. I've been going through my old stuff as well (when I hit 150, I cull back to 120 or so, then start over again)..very instructive..now if anyone knows of a utility that can spot dupe pictures..that would be handy..;) (Up to about 11,000..but that's from since about '95..;)

I've done it once. The image was really in the wrong gallery. It stirred little intrest so about a year later I took it down and reposted it in the proper gallery for thatkind of image. Problem solved.

Drawbridge, thats a great gallery and loads so fast! Where'd you get it? Also, I couldn't get the realism link to work, got a 404 error. :(
