Subject: What happened to Poser Pro?????

Raddar ( ) posted Wed, 02 February 2005 at 9:28 PM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 8:32 PM

I was thinking about getting Poser Pro when it first came out but was unable to do so. Now when I am ready to add it to my library of software I cant find it. Amazon.com shows it to be discontinued. I even went to Curious Labs web site looking for it. They show the box, and there is a "Buy it" button, but when I hit it all I get is an option to buy Poser 5. Did Poser Pro Pac get pulled or something?

Ohh, I thought you meant PoserPros. That's a whole nother story. Poser 4 was renamed Poser Artist; dunno if that has anything to do with it, since Pro Pack is an addon to Poser 4.

Yeah I'm looking for Poser Pro Pac, the add on to Poser 4 or Poser Artist, whatever they are calling it these days. I can't seem to find it anywhere though, Pro Pac that is.

It's a bit "dated" these days. Now we've had Poser 5 for 2 years and Poser 6 will arrive this spring.

Poser Artist is what Poser 4 used to be. Just a new name. Poser Pro Pack still works as an addon to Poser Artist just like it did when it was called Poser 4. So if you are looking for Poser 4, buy Poser Artist. You can then add Poser Pro Pack if you wanted. - Noel

In the link above you need to click on the old Bodtstudio plugin pic. (Misleading eh?) then navigate to your checkout!

the link if you're lazy or weary from hunting it down (I am & I bought it years ago!) with the new layout of CL's webstore!!

ENjoy!! I recently reinstalled ProPack to render in Max (IT looks great!) but I'm back to P5!! ProPack is still usefull though!

Thanks for all the help. I think I'll slow down and give Poser 5 another consideration. I heard a lot of bad things about it when it first came out but it sounds like it might be worth it now.
